Hi, First post here. I've been reading thru many of the other postings and I've learned a lot so far. But I'm having some serious issues with my ride.
Roketa YY-250 MC-54T
I love the bike actually, but it's nickel and dime-ing me to death. Is it worth it to fix it or should I just get rid of the thing?
I have about 4800 miles on it now. I turn the key and nothing. No fan, no lights, no nothing. This is after sitting for about 2 weeks.
Before that, I had charging troubles.
Also blew the fork seals, and the left brake is useless except for starting.
HELP!

First thing is have you checked your battery with a volt meter, It may be dead. Also have you checked the fuses on it? Reason is if you have nothing it could be the main fuse that is blown.
Also which engine is on there the HELIX 244cc Vertical or the LINAHI HORIZONTIAL?

I've metered the battery and all the fuses. No problems there. Battery is a strong 12.7 I keep it on a tender so it's always full except when I'm riding. I take the tender with me also and plug it in at work.
I found a fuse-box in the seat box under a panel that covers the battery. I've checked the wires I can get to easily. I'm hesitant to take any body panels off since I live in an apartment and they tend to frown on working on your vehicle here.
I had a headlight blow out before it died. I disconnected the junk radio it came with and removed it. I've had it in the shop a couple of times now because the muffler keeps falling off. My Mechanic welded a bit of straight pipe on so I'm legal, but extremely loud. The neighbors love me right now.
The rear fender fell off and ripped my rear tire to shreds, so it's gone now also (the fender that is). My rear wheel has to be replaced because its got a big dent in the side where it went flat and then hit a huge concrete bump on the road. Its a 24 spline wheel and I can't find the colored version anywhere online. I finally found a silver one, but it's $140.
Are the bulbs changeable on this bike or am I stuck with replacing the entire assembly? That would suck.
No idea which engine I have. How do I tell?
I can do some work myself, but I'm not a mechanic, I'm a Musician. I'm about ready to write a song on the evils of Chinese bikes.

WOW!! HAHAHAHA that is funny, that thing must look like it was just in a wreck. Ok, is this where the fuses are on yours? I would imagine they are from what you said. Now that is the fuse box that sends juice to all the gauges and lights and what not. BUT there is a RED wire coming off the Battery that has the MAIN FUSE which feeds the FUSE BOX did you check that FUSE? Also when you turn the KEY on which gets the VOLTAGE straight from the battery WHICH IS FUSED by the way(MAIN FUSE) it sends the juice to the BOX by the way of a BLACK WIRE. So look under the FUSE BOX find the BLACK WIRE turn the KEY ON and see if it is getting 12volts. Alleyoop

There is no juice to the fuse-box. Where do I find that main fuse? Yes, the pic looks like mine.
There is a fuse on the skinny red wire coming from the battery and I've metered it. It's good. Is there another one I should be looking for? One under the plastic somewhere?
Also, how do I add pix to a post?

Yes the fuse on the skinny wire from the battery is the main fuse if that is blown you got nothing. Are you sure you Tested BOTH SIDES of the FUSE to make sure juice is passing THROUGH the fuse?
If juice is good going through the fuse then you next check is AT THE IGNITION switch check for 12volts there and TURN the KEY ON and check the BLACK WIRE which runs down to the FUSE BOX. It could be a bad IGNITION SWITCH.
If no juice then jump the the hot wire to the black wire and you should have power. Alleyoop

You can use this it is free and easy to use: This is what I use, used to use PhotoBucket but they mess things up and want you to join and pay now, so they mess things up on purpose. Alleyoop You can use push picture to put up pictures here it is easy and free: picturepush.com/host.php?image=100759501. Click on the BLUE UPLOAD another image 2. Click on BROWSE 3. That will display your computer directories 4. click on where your picture is at 5. Click on your picture and click on OPEN and it will load it 6. Then scroll down to the box where it says640*480 7. Click on the 2nd entry in those links -- it will turn blue 8. Right click and click copy 9. Come here and right click and paste it in your post.

I had a basic electronics course almost 40 years ago. I can use a meter pretty well.
I did a continuity check on each and every fuse I could find. Nothing wrong with any of them.
I'm thinking I'll just install a hidden bypass switch that skips the ignition module if that turns out to be the problem.
Is this thing worth fixing?

In another thread here, Cruiser says that the YY250T has the 244cc CFMoto engine. So, I'm guessing that's the one I have.

Well here are the motors that the 250s come with very easy to tell which one you have: Alleyoop

Hmmm.... On closer examination (Bike is at home, I'm at work), I think I have the 257 Linhai. That's based on the black air scoop on the side closest to the camera.

That one the VALVES are a piece of cake to adjust(HEHE) you adjust them when the motor is running. The Valve adjusters on the outside of the valve cover. Alleyoop

Hey Guitarman, what kind of gigs do you do? I jobbed around Toledo on trumpet and piano making a good living before I gave it up to go to chiropractic college. My bachelors is in music with a science minor. What a career change!
Do you have anything working with the key on? If the bike is dark with all scenarios it's probably the ignition switch. If you can get to it you can meter the switch and rule it in or out.

Left Side Rear Left Quarter I do mostly Christian events and kids parties. I make a decent living, but not for Hawaii standards! LOL I also teach on Hickam Air Force base. Turn the key on and totally dark. No lights, no fan, no nuthin! LOL I'm working on a song just for this bike... "That evil scoot, made me hoot..." How hard is it to replace the ignition switch?

Well just open the seat and take the access cover off and then you will the carb and if the big valve cover is on top looking at you its the HELIX motor. Alleyoop This is what you would be looking at if its a HELIX:
