I have a new EVO150 that is needing a replacement transmission, I think.
Since I got it 5 months/5,000 miles ago, I have never been able to get it up to full speed, tops out around 45. I can now feel the belt slipping.
Backstory I dropped it back in Aug and took it back to where I bought it and got it repaired. They got it working, but a month later the belt shredded itself. Took it back again and they put in a new belt and did something to the bearing in the clutch. Now the engine is racing sometimes at high speeds and the back tire sounds like a RC car.
I am tired of not knowing what is going on with the blasted bike. I'm wanting to replace the whole transmission assembly with quality parts and see if that makes a difference but don't know what to order because the VIN is mistyped.
HELP!!!!! ...please?

Need some pictures of the scoot, a VIDEO with sound would be the best to be able to tell what may be the problem. Don't worry about the vin. Need to know what motor is in there also the size of the rims 10", 12" 16" etc.. Look on the rear tire it will tell you the size. Need to know if it has a shortcase motor or long case motor..Count the bolts holding the CVT cover. Alleyoop QUESTION: Are you somewhat mechanically inclined or do you have to always take it to a shop for repair. See this is where to find the type of motor that scoot has: Look in this spot and tell us the MOTOR that is scribed on the motor case. This scoot has a 1P39QMB motor.

Sorry for taking so long to reply. I have been very busy at work. I'm not afraid of tools and have a basic idea of what an engine does but I don't have any real knowledge of how it is suppose to work. Think of the engine as a ball of yarn that a cat has finished playing with. In order to use the ball again, it needs to be untangled(fixed.) I know that it is suppose to be round like any ball and the yarn comes off when you pull. I don't know that all the loops that I'm untangling are how it's suppose to be and that if I was to keep them from collapsing out of order I can pull the ball apart easily. I am ordering the parts soon. How does wheel size effect what I need to get? I was unable to make a video of the Noise because the drain plug for the rear axle is missing. Once I get that replaced I make the video. [/img] In this pic would you guess that the belt was less than 2500 miles old? There was also a ton of rubber powder in the case when I opened it. Is there anything besides the variator and the clutch that can cause this?

What about the inside of the cover? Looks like the top of the belt is rubbing somewhere.

I'm back! I hate working in the dark.
I got the reservoir refilled and heard this when moving the wheel. I'm thinking that the axle needs something replaced. It sounds like bearings with sand in it.
The Motor is a 157pmj and the wheels are 13 inches.

Need to see more shots of the CVT from the back to the front and the whole cvt from the side. The As you can see the BELT on the top sides is hitting something and that is why they are breaking. Also take a picture of the CVT cover inside the top and bottom. Start the motor and take a Video THAT we can see of the CVT working. Take a Video in the Daylight so we can see if anything is out of wack or if we can see what the top of the belt is hitting. Now I have to say that CLUTCH is NOT KNEW the inside faces of the CLUTCH should be shiny JUST LIKE THE VARIATOR. Alleyoop

The same thing happened to the wife's scooter. Run it on the street and it would let loose at high speeds and just sit and spin. Took me for ever to find the problem. When I would take the cover off, and test everything, all seemed well and working as it should. Under a high speed load, while riding, it would slip. In my case, it turned out to be the two pins in the slots under the back pulley had slipped down towards the center shaft so they didn't ride in the slots like they should. Rather than try to find new pins, I just replaced the whole rear clutch and pulley assembly.
