I am still having problems former (WSONY) 150cc headlight don't work, had to sign back up on forum with new user name. That was the title of my post before....... so I got the new stator and that didn't make my lights work so I order a new ref. put it on and started up the bike and my headlights are now working . Now I just shut down the bike to put it all back together and nothing not even power to crane the bike everything is dead . it was not even 1 hr. and took it out of the garage after putting it all back together , no power to crank but the gauges work . someone please help I am trying even thing. the four wires that go to the ref. that I was told to test yellow and red were hot before I put the new ref. on was now no power at all , tested the same two wires there not even hot no longer. what could have happen?

Well testing the wires from the stator the motor has to be running so that you cannot do. But check your battery connections to the SOLENOID which works the starter. Also touch both terminals on the SOLENOID and see if it spins your starer. Also when you squeeze the brake does your STOP LIGHTS come on. Putting things back together you may have unplugged the connection from the SOLENOID to the harness plug. So find your SOLENOID and see if it is plugged in. Alleyoop

I did all of that also, and I took a screw driver and put it on the + and - and the starter turns but don't start check the switches on handle bar and the switch is in the on position also. I did have headlight and brake lights after I replace the ref. but first I did what you said and order the stator first and replace that and that was not the problem the bike still started but the headlights and brake lights did not come on until I just decide to just buy the Ref. and put that on and everything was working . Just shut it down to put it all back together and not thing.

OK, lets go back a little , You had it working running and lights working. Then you shut it down and you say you put it back together.
WHAT PARTS did you have to put back together, so that would give me an IDEA of what may be in that area that a wire or wires may have come disconnected. Also refresh my memory is this a 50cc 2 stroke, 4 stroke or 150cc or 250 etc.. Alleyoop
Also if you can take some pictures of the motor are and wires around it that may help.

So your saying you TURN THE KEY on the gauges work and the instrument panel lights up and you squeeze the brake and the STOP LIGHTS COME ON but when you push the start button nothing. Does it make a clicking sound or nothing. Alleyoop

We know that when you jumped the SOLENOID it spun your starter so the battery is good. So the next test is to see if juice is getting to the SOLENOID when you squeeze the brakes. The way it works is this You turn the KEY on it sends voltage to the brake switchs on both brakes and when you squeeze the brakes it sends the JUICE to the BRAKE LIGHTS AND THE SOLENOID. There is a plug that seperates the wire going to the BRAKE LIGHTS and the SOLENOID it is USUALLY GREEN AND YELLOW WIRE. Now to complete the CIRCUIT when you push the start button all that does is GROUND the SOLENOID and that completes the circuit and the contact inside touchs BOTH TERMINALS just like you did with the screwdriver from the outside and sends the voltage to the starter. So if you could tape both brakes on and then test the YELLOW AND GREEN wire going into the SOLENOID to see if it has juice. A 12v LIGHT TESTER is indispensable for tracing wires that should have voltage. They are a few bucks but saves you a lot of time hunting for wires that should have juice at any point and time. Here is the SOLENOID and the wires going into it. and here is a 12V light tester. IN ADDITION, if you can get it to crank over and it does not FIRE at least once take the spark plug out or if you have a spare pull the BOOT CAP off the plug on the motor stick the spare plug in the BOOT and hold it against the VALVE COVER or MOTOR and crank it and see if it if SPARKING a nice bluish spark. Alleyoop The tester just clip the wire to a good ground and with the pointed end probe the wire you want to check, if it has juice the tester will light up.

the answer your question about the gauges , i turn the key and the gas gauge moves up but my gauges light up only when the bike is running , and no to your other question my brake lite does not come on with my key, I have to have the key on and bike running in order for the brake lite work. all I did when I put the bike back together was all the plastic pieces I didn't pears no wires it was the front cover of the bike and side molding going back to the side fender.

OK did what you ask about checking the yellow/green wire and the tester did not light up, and jump the solenoid with a screw driver and no spark . so I am just going to wait for the parts I order to see if its the kill switch or the brake buttons, what else can I check I turn the key in the on position and my gas gauge moves up and my blinkers and horn works but no lights or able to start. can it be my coil? or do you think I shorted out my REF. it was new but the two wires I had that were hot before I plug in the New REF. are not hot now.

One thing the, BRAKE LIGHTS SHOULD come on when you turn the KEY TO ON and SQUEEZE EITHER of the TWO BRAKES. The motor does not have to be running for the brake lights to work and the SOLENOID to work. Try both breaks, that is what sends VOLTAGE to the SOLENOID to spin your starter. Now if you jumped the SOLENOID and it spun your starter that means your battery has juice.
When putting things back some wire had to be pulled and disconnected from the front where you were checking the wiring. So I would take the cover off again and look for disconnected wires on a lot of scoots the connectors are do not have a PLUG they are push in types and can easly become disconnected. Alleyoop
