The sight glass on my GL1200 broke. I used a bolt, two washers, a nut and some JB Weld. Yes, I have no sight glass, but I check it occasionally to make sure it's full. And it ain't leaked in 4 years.
We don't need no stinking sight glass.
Just purge and replace with new.

Im curious, how did you exactly use a bolt, washer and nut to fix your sight glass? My mom wants to ride the bike and im just not comfortable with her and the front left brake

Place washer on bolt Put bolt thru sight glass hole, with the head on the outside. Washer on the inside of the reservoir on the bolt end, and a nut to tighten everything down. Use JB Weld where the washers contact the reservoir (inside and out) Let dry. That was 7 years ago and still no leak. Granted, no sight glass, but i check it regularly.

Mabye check the gape on your plug also make sure it is right glad to hear you got it running sounds like you have some other issues with oil leaking. Sounds like you might have a running scooter for like 200 dollars that's great.

I just had a small problem with the vacuum line coming from the intake, I changed out that hose and clamped it down so it wouldnt come off. I also noticed that my kick start is 100% inoperable lol. I dont really need it but I never got it to work when playing around with it
