[quote author=" kz1000st" source="/post/75755/thread" timestamp="1391328087" At least the Chinese build 50cc bikes that do 80 mile trips with ease. Let see a 50cc scooter on a 80 mile trip. Not the Geely I once owned. All it was good for was as pit bike at the drag strip. And even at that the golf cart was better. Looks like we disagree again so I must be wrong. But I never did like riding around with a box of headgaskets and JB Weld on the back.

Both of my bikes together cost under 5k. Whew!!! Those other bikes are way too price for my wallet. LOL.
Even with the problems my Ice Bear had, I wouldn't trade it for anything else. I have 2 China bikes and I've never had any problems with the TaoTao but minor stuff with the Ice Bear and both companies stand behind their products...Yeah...China Bikes.

Oh! now i know why kz attached that milk crate in the back of his scoot, its full of blown headgaskets , jb weld and flooded spark plugs. if you buy a jap scoot, you can get rid of your milk crate forever. its an eyesore... lol

Can you imagine if you bring your scooter in a gathering or a party then people ask what kind is your scooter and you'll say "oh its a chinese made scooter"...isnt it that it's too degrading? as suppose to saying oh its a japanese or an italian scooter., it comes with pride when you say it isnt it? used jap or italian scoots are not that expensive, it could very well cost 5 grand but its worth it....you get what you pay for, name and quality!!! its the self esteem that matters honey!!! anyway, its your preferrence.... just enjoy and good luck!

what did the chinese do to you? Now the japs on the other hand tried to take over the world 72 years ago and just about every one I know has lost family and friends to them. I am 70 was and born 9 months after pearl harbor. I grew up in an army dependents camp where a lot of fathers did not come back.

man o man,,,here we go again,,(the russian funeral derge just went off in my head AGAIN) ,,,,,this board and and others confirms without question that a properly setup/pdi'd,,and maintained chinese scoot is capable of serious mileage and very good to excellent reliability,,,i wouldn't recommend ANY motorcycle or scooter from anywhere on the planet to anyone that doesn't have at least some mechanical ability and the tools to actually maintain or service these machines,,,or you will be taking it to be serviced/repaired and those costs can add up,,,the beauty of these machines is that parts are plentiful and very inexpensive,,i saw replacement balanced and blueprinted big valve head gy6 engines for under $600,,,crazy stupid money,,and four valve ported heads,,,cams intake manifold everything for $240,,,,,,and i really haven't been looking hard either,,,,there are literally millions of these machines in service running up millions of miles every day of the week,,i don't know what to say about "pride" and degrading to say that i would be riding a chinese whatever,,,misinformation and biased opinions propagate these points of view ,,they are not based on expertise but on hearsay and catchy sayings and slogans generated by the competition ,,i remember "jap crap" was the rallying cry for many years till honda developed the 250cc six cylinder racers and kicked everyones asses into the weeds,,then the stories got real quiet,,and also you have to consider the sources of the degrading remarks,,,(sorry luke i have to do this) how is the morph doing on the track? endurance racing? dirt? anything at all? ,,not even bonneville where you don't have to turn,,,it lost every comparison review,,,i can't find one article, not one shred of evidence that this bike is being developed in any form anywhere,,why??,,because that machine is nothing more than a design excercise thats it period,,it only made it in the states for a couple years with soft sales,,lackluster performance and high buy in price,,so sales slid of the face of the earth,,,it's the edsel of the motorscootering world,,with the sales to match,,,can you imagine what i could do with a $4-500 used chinese scoot and $1200 in upgrades? i'm getting all wet just thinking about it,,,

we are not on the same page when it comes to riding a scooter,,, i notice that you ride your scooter hard, you riide it on tracks and offroad and you want to ride till it drop, im not that kind of guy,, i ride with "class". yes i am a heavy rider in the sense that i ride my scoot half or whole day NON STOP, i hop on yard sales, just park my scoot without turning the engine off, i turn it off when i get home just to give you an and idea, , i wash my scoot once a month with water and soap, wax it everytime i go riding, its always shiny all the time, kinda like a showroom looks, thats how you ride with "class" but i have to tell you that i have 28k on my odo, so you cant really say that i didnt ride it long, and i dont think the odo will even move if i trailer my scoot right? its the actual miles that counts right? and remember i belong to the stabux elite scooter group. go figure!

my real point is, no matter how expensive the chinese scooter is and how much worth of upgrades you put on it,,, the fact is IT'S STILL A CHINESE SCOOTER. the materials used is waaay beyond the lowest standard. and their products has a really bad reputation in the business world.. their products fall apart., literally fall apart and its the fact...
no, i have nothing against chinese peoplle, i like them, its their products that i dont like.... they need another lifetime before they can even convince and impress me!

Luke if ignorance is bliss, you're the happiest m@th@rf#k@r i've ever met,,, Now that sums Luke up in a nutshell! Hey Luke, you ever going to answer my questions about your credentials? I do have to say that everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Of course to have a valid opinion that people will respect and listen too requires proper UNBIASED research. Luke my offer still stands for you to come up and look at 10 unbadged scooters and tell me which is Chinese and which is not. Cyborg, you really impress me with your knowledge.

no, i have nothing against chinese peoplle, i like them, its their products that i dont likeNow that's an unbiased statement if I ever heard one. Now you ride with class? I'm loving it. So now not only are we a bunch of ignorant, addicted morons, we don't have any class either. I guess it's the dorky kick starters. Talk about smoke and mirrors. Actually since you could ride all year round, you don't really ride at all. Want Proof? yuma.craigslist.org/mcy/4313503009.html2011 Suzuki Burgman 400 cc scooter Driven only in Yuma County Area. One Owner 24,000 miles. This guy seems to have done more miles than you in way less time. Maybe he has no class too. But gee, it sure looks clean and classy to me.

I say it again since all 3 big jap makers have had partnerships/alliances with china since the early 90s,, what were the chinese producing for the japs besides scooters?

hey i'm not going to convince you of all people luke,,you are an immovable object,,and you have a right to believe anything and like anything you wish to,,,my point is just this and i'm going to make another racing analogy so bear with me there is a point,,,,4 guys (total privateers),,prepped 4 vespas for the paris to dakar ralley in 1980,,,,now keep in mind,,there was less than a 39% chance of even finishing the ralley let alone winning the damned thing,,their chase support was their girlfriends ,,super low budget,,,,they were the LAUGHING STOCK at the start,,with all kinds of jokes and derogatory remarks,,,,TILL about half way thru the race,,,,,one dropped out busted crank,,,bummer,,,3 pressed on and at the checkpoints even the other drivers were cheering them on!!!!! the corporate support was mortified,,,looked like they were going to finish with a 75% success rate ,,,,honda and all the other big 4 were crapting their pants,,,just after the last check before finish one more dropped out,,,at the end of the race even the overall time winner was cheering them across the line,,,THEY WERE THE HEROS OF THE RACE!!! and almost no one remembers the total overall winner,,vespas sales went thru the roof !! those 4 idiots personally single handedly saved vespa whose sales had slumped badly ,,,win on sunday sell on monday,,the pro racers had looked down their noses at the lowly scooters,,laughing joking running them down based on no evidence and bad opinions,,those 4 guys had the last laugh ,,,another similar one with honda and aprilia happened in gp250 but i'll tell that story another time
