Okay guys, I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself before dropping a question on you all. You can call me newdude, I'm from Arizona, just about 5 minutes from Hell and I'm about to get a deal on a scooter!
100 bucks for a second hand rocketa fiji 150 scooter. The question is: is it a good deal? It has some electrical problems and it only starts every other time( the guy told me its something to so with the carb, ill know more later) BUT, it's a only a hundo.
I figure, it's no that much down the drain I it's junk but if its a simple fix, like I need a new membrane for the carb or something, then it's a smacking deal. Another thing, what mods could I make to this scooter? Any suggestions, I know I want to stormtrooper it with the paint and everyhing but idk exactly what performance mods I could make and which would be the best for it.
I know, that was a TON of words but I apologize. So yeah, answer away

For $100 that is a no brainer if it has title.Gives you alot of wiggle room to repair it and not be upside down in it. I have seen and benefited from people buying scoots and never titling them or losing the title.

Around here I give $25.00 for a scooter that isn't running and $50.00 for one that will at least sputter. The hook is that I pick it up with my trailer and get it out of their way. It's usually some kid's bike and the parents are sick of tripping over it in the garage. So if the bike you're looking at is actually roadworthy buy it. However, Randy is correct, they should have the paperwork and the VIN on the bike should match the VIN on the title. Check with your DOT before buying to see what they require. But if the paperwork isn't right, it's just parts.

All right so I bought it, its in the shop right now, thats where the previous owner left it. Its a school shop so its being "fixed?" for free. I dont have any information until tomorrow about what exactly is wrong with it yet. Its a clean title, second owner, so ill be the third owner. its been laid down once, so part of the body is cracked, on the back on the side underneath the seat and the mirrors cracked.
I'm still in high school so I have time from 4 to whenever every week day to work on it. Im going to get it from the shop and see if i can tell whats wrong.

Can anyone walk me through the process of locating removing troubleshooting and cleaning the carbeurator? I would like to learn this myself rather than having someone else do it. Or at least point to a thread that covers this scooter or a similar one? Thanks

like rich id probably buy that for $25 bucks or $15. but anyway you already bought it, we'll help you deal with it. my only question to you and your mechanic is---> what is the engine compression ? if you get 100psi and up, its worthy to work on that scoooter, BUT if you get 80 or below, forget it, bring it back to the seller, he screwed you up bigtime. if you have a loose compression its either you have the engine block rebored and buy i bigger pistons etc OR buy a new GY6 engine that cost about $650. +registration $50 + motorcycle drivers license application $35 + insurace $100/year ..... bottomline, think before you buy! just imagine , you bought a chinese scooter with an engine compression of zero... gosh nothing worst than that.
but dont worry, let daddy KZ help you, afterall he pushed you so hard to buy it , instead of telling you to save the money for college... same goes to cyborg... lol

Don't listen to Luke. He couldn't get his China 50cc to start after he assembled it with scotch tape so he bought a scooter with a leaking fuel pump instead.
Hey Luke here's a better video. Those water drops on the seat and fender is called rain.
