Alley, Fuel gauge seems to be working okay now.I took my trike on an 80 mile round trip sunday and I stopped at a stop sign and when I went to take off seems like the belt was slipping or the rollers stuck in the out positon, the trike would rev up but moved really slow any thoughts on this alley ? kalee

Could be several things, but let me ask this did it straighten itself out or is it still the same it will rev but does not what to move.
It could be oil in the cvt in which cause it will cause the belt to slip. Could be Variator sticking closed and it would be hard for it initially move until after it really got up some rpms and rolling.
Do you hear any noise from back there, which would not be a good sign. Alleyoop

It seems like it has straightened out but I did notice after I turned into a strong head wind that the trike would vary I could only get 51 or 52 mph then it would jump up to 55 then back to 51 or 52 and stay there .After I turned around with the wind at my back it would get close to 60 mph I did hear a noise but it sounded tinny not sure what that is have not taken a look yet. kalee

Well heading into the wind will slow the trikes quite a bit so I do not see a problem there. But you may want to check the CVT for worn weights that have flat spots on them and the PLASTIC GUIDES that the Variator moves in and out on. The guides are plastic so with the heat the variator generates they could be worn and binding at times. Worn rollers will make a clicking sound . Alleyoop

Bygolly I think I finally got a picture, this nut had come loose and was rubbing against the muffler. If there had been a little more space betweent the muffler and the bracket i would have lost the nut.

GREAT GOOD JOB KALEE!! See I knew you could do it now you know how to put pictures up. Pictures of things are worth a thousand words. Sometimes trying to explain a problem with some pictures it speeds the fix up. Good that you put some loctite on it, if it starts to come loose again put a LOCK WASHER behind the nut. Alleyoop

I never thought about a lock washer, this nut was a self locking nut but seems to have lost the self locking part. Thanks Alley for all your help, I might try to soup this trike up a little at a time. Is there supposed to be slack in the chain ? kalee

Yes push up on the bottom center of the chain and it should move up about 1/2-3/4 of an inch. If you can push it up more than an INCH then it is to loose. The other way is on the sprocket grab the chain by the center of the sprocket and pull the chain if you can see almost the top of the teeth on the sprocket then it is to loose or chain has stretched to much.
