Hi Everyone Been having issues with my gy6 150 motor not running right, the motor has a new top end and stator, cdi, plug, coil, intake manifold.I cant seem to diagnose this problem with the motor surging,i checked the timing and everything lines up TDC on the stator and cam lined up on the head.i swaped out the stock CV carb with to round slide carbs of a running 150 and I still get the same problem.carbs all cleaned out and all air and fuel passages and float level good .tried swapping the main jets from 105 -120 adjusted the fuel mixture and still the same problems I even swapped out the motor and same problem with the motor surging..tried the vacuum petcock still same as well as direct flow to the carb and nothing changes...any info will be much appreciated..how can I post the video here??

Is that manifold designed for a GY6 or is it adapted. I'm not real comfortable with the angle on that float bowl.

Also, unless you have a fuel pump you should not run your fuel line with loops or upwards. If it's gravity feed it needs to run downwards.

Good grief, I am an idiot! I just noticed your carb is backwards. I tried that and it did the same thing. No wonder the float bowl looked funny! There's hardly any gas in the bowl when it's at that angle and it keeps running out and refilling. That thing looks like it would move some gas too and the bowl looks to be especially small. Did it ever run right with that configuration? I guess it's possible but I couldn't make it work.

Sure enough that is the problem the carb is to much at an angle and the gas is sitting off to the rear of the carb not enough fuel in the carb to cover the jets. Turn that Carb the right way and your problem will go away. Or find an intake manifold that will LEVEL the carb in the forward position. Alleyoop

Hi Guys thanks for your info. The intake is a aftermarket aluminum manifold for gy6 I just replaced it with the stock rubber intake. I had this type of reverse angle on my ruckus gy6 swap in the past just to clear the frame as well as other ruckus owners and have no problems with the tilt angle affecting the bog...tried to run the fuel line gravity feed directly to the carb and no change on the surge..valves intake and exh adjusted new vaccum hoses seald tight as well as the intake.rejetted the stock CV carbmains from 120 and then back to 105 no change.i tried a two 24mm slide carb just to see if it will help but it still bogs. any info will be much appreciated

Is that a generator your working on. At the end of the video it looks like two wheels are on it. I am not sure why it is running like that. Mabey the float bowl is sticking is it leaking gas. It's seems to me it is running to rich to much air but you have messed with the screw for the idle.

It is surging because it is LEAN it needs more fuel. That is a gravity fed system and on a gravity fed system YOU MUST NOT HAVE LOOPS in your fuel line going to the carb. You must not have the fuel hose LOWER that the Carbs fuel inlet. So the first thing is FIX the HOSE to go DOWNHILL TO THE CARBS FUEL INLET that will help a lot and maybe fill up the carb bowl fast enough to compensate for the TILT in the carb that is exposing the PILOT JET and it cannot suck in fuel at a constant rate. Changed the carb angle making it level and I still get the surging. plug readings are on the rich side. main, pilot, exhaust stock on this 150 motor. pulled the fuel lines off to see the flow while i crank the motor and its good even if i have loops on the fuel lines and i even ran gravity fuel lines direct to the carb and its still surging. by the way its not a generator its a wake winch project im working on

Can you put it back to stock and see if it does it? Rich

I think he may have or sold it cause his last post was TWO YEARS AGO. So if you are having a problem start a thread of your own so we can help you with your problem. Alleyoop
