I accidentally ran through a puddle about a month ago(a big one), and it immediately killed my scooter. after which, the kickstart was locked up. SO, my pop did something and said that would definitely drain all the water out of the engine.. well, I've been busy and only just now gotten a chance to try to take the engine off and guess what. about half a cup of water drained out of it. this makes me pretty nervous, is the engine FUBAR now that it has sat for about a month with water in it?

Where was the water? in the motor or just the CVT? If it was in the CVT you may have to oil some parts. But it takes a pretty long time to have it rust so crank that sucker up and let it idle and get the oil and gas free things up. Make sure the muffler is not full of water. Alleyoop

Is it still locked? probably not, it's the water in the cylinder trying to be compressed that locks them up. If you got it out it should turn again. I'd squirt some of that Royal Purple into the spark plug hole and crank the engine over several times. Then try to start it. What do you have to lose?

thanks for the ideas, I have a couple developments. the piston was badly cracked after the connecting rod broke/bent. there's also a very minor bit of rust in the cylinder. beyond that, I couldn't see any other issues, the trans is quite dry.
