I know that this may be a strange questions, but I want to remove the 12in tire/wheels on my scooter and install 10in. Is this possible? I got a 2007 150cc scooter and it was crashed by the PO. All the plastic is gone and so I am making it into a stand-up foot scooter. In my state the laws are strange and this fits into my needs. No license required for a foot scooter, but they want 10in tires to qualify. Can I just get some used wheels and bolt them straight on, and if so, what should I look for?

Now you say they 10 inch tires!! or do they want 10" rims? BIG difference 10" tires you will need very small rims. So from what you say Stand-Up Foot Scooter I imagine the tires have to only be 1 foot in diameter. Get a clear clarification on that. You will loose a heck of a lot of speed. Now if you ride around 20-35 then not a problem. with 1 foot tall tires it will be hard to get past 35. Another thing I would imagine they also want all tires to be 10" so that would include the front tire as well. Big problem you will have is getting a rim to fit in the rear with the brake setup and drive shaft. It will cost you more than getting a license and the scooter to make that change Over IF the want 10" diameter TIRES. If they mean 10" RIMS then you have a shot. Alleyoop

We are shooting for 10in rims, that way we can point and say "look, 10 in tires". As far as getting a license that will not work, it is for my son and he can't get it back for about 18 months.

So he lost his driving privileges and your helping him get into more trouble if you put on 10" rims when they want 10" tires and they stop him for whatever!! Well if he was my son he would not be riding until he got his driving privileges back that is the only way they learn and makes them a better person and will help them through their life. Alleyoop
