A bit posthumus, as this was from a purchase back near the end of February, but hopefully no less relevant. For what was intended to be a wintertime upgrade (having no clue of the unseasonable warmth to come), I ordered several things from the Mainely Scooters eShop: - 15/38 Final Reduction Gear Set (NCY)
- Dr. Pulley sliders (11g)
- 2x Kenda K413 Tires, 130~120/70-12
- Gearbox gasket
- Iridium Plug
- Gates Powerlink 842 belt
- Exhaust gasket
Checkout was not a problem. Communication was good, with a total of 4 update emails as the order processed and shipped. This reflected well on expediency, as the order was prepped and shipped over the course of about 8 hours on the same business day. I ordered things from several vendors online that day, with this order arriving first out of about 4, so shipping was PDQ. Considering I was about 1/2 way across the country and said shipping was also free, not bad at all. Packaging was secure and professionally labeled - adequate for reasonable protection of the contents (there was the inevitable smushed corner by the shipper on this fairly sizable box, but nothing damaged inside). Without drifting into product reviews, I was pretty satisfied with this vendor. Pricing was very fair IMO - when all was said and done, I paid slightly less for quality, branded stuff than I would have paid for questionable-quality generics of similar function from some other sources, so that's about as much as one could ask for in my book. Will definitely be looking back to this vendor for future orders. The information presented here is the unverified experience of Evilgenius and may not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of staff, management, and/or your crazy neighbor lady's pet parakeet. "Believe it or not."

For a temp fix, you *may* be able to drill a hole through the kickstand and bracket (in the 'down' position) so that you can push a dowel/cotter pin through to 'lock' the kickstand in place when you're parked.
Admittedly not the most sophisticated measure, but really simplicity is best when you can make it work. 2 minutes with a drill is totally worth knowing your kickstand isn't going to fold up and make your scoot eat asphalt.

That's sounds about right. Double shot is 2.5-3 fl'ozs and I have a 2.7 gallon tank.
I thought that was a 4194 Autolite though?
The C7HSA is the standard NGK, they may have this as well. Think of it as the 'mid grade' between the other two.

As I said, I may have missed some things there "between the lines". People do and say things for which I can't fathom the slightest motivation in, yet there they are all the same. Add that in with the inherent ambiguity of the internet and who knows what will come out, and if I'd recognize it when it did. I do apologize for getting a bit defensive; the last couple of weeks have left me a bit so, for reasons which I believe you are well aware. I am not MP's "big buddy" or anything like that. We have conversed a bit in threads, and he does seem like a fairly upright guy to me. I have been given no personal reason, or seen any other behavior exhibited from this individual towards others, that would give me cause to assume otherwise. That would certainly seem to be counterproductive behavior, seeing as he is in the biz after all. You don't get customers by being a 'Richard Cranium' to your customer base, and he's got to make a living like the rest of us. Why would you interpret his perceived desire to advertise here as a negative thing? I would think that as a vendor and enthusiast, this might actually enrich the forum. So, again, the story just doesn't seem that logical. I've heard a lot of illogical stories lately, though, so I can't say it's the strangest or least likely. Thanks for spelling out your thoughts so I can comprehend them, at least. I didn't come here to troll, bash, or shill for anyone, if that's what you're implying. There is no history with me. Anyone can search my profile and see my posts here. I am the same persona here and elsewhere, I have nothing to hide. I am not a part of any 'click'; this is not middle school. I'm just a guy who likes scoots and tends to be a bit verbose. For the love of 2 (or three) wheels, could we torque down the paranoia to factory spec? Use the red Loctite!

Fluids - new motor and gear oil in ASAFP. Get that "unknown quantity" out of there. Replace with good stuff. Don't use ethanol gas if you can avoid it. Check air filter. Look for vacuum or intake leaks. Waffles are tasty. Also: +1 Seafoam. It'll say on the bottle IIRC, but I usually just pour in somewhere around a double- or triple- shot's worth?

Maybe I missed something, I just didn't see anything in MP's post as being offensive. All I saw was that the guy tried to pop in and say 'hi', and put in his $0.02 (it is a discussion forum, after all) and got slammed like a grilled-weasel-on-a-bun vendor at a PETA convention. While I do appreciate that welcome, it's a bit less convincing when you follow it up with a comment like that. Complete that thought, Alley. Very telling about what, and to whom? Telling that I won't blindly "dawgpile" on someone with you just because you very plainly have some personal beef with them? If you are possessed of such psychoanalytical prowess, please tell me what other startling insights you have been able to deduce from such sparse source material. My burning question: should I buy a powerball ticket tonight? ;D I don't mean any harm to anyone, and I don't want to create more bad blood. There is no agenda, product, or service I'm trying to promote (other than scooting technology in general, which I think is OK here, but I've been wrong before). I don't know the whole history of all "this", and I'm sure there are all manner of things I thankfully never will. I'm just so sick of all these holier-than-thou board wars. I wonder: Is there something unique to scooterist DNA that makes it impossible for us to get along with others, even ourselves? Thanks for the positive note, kz. At least someone's trying. Despite the democracy, I would still dare not post anything BA-related here, or any other scoot-related board. I've learned my lesson the hard way that people don't like having their bubbles burst, no mater which side of the particular bubble they may be on. For all the hate, I was just trying to legitimately prove or disprove someone else's theory, as opposed to just offering an opinion. Maybe folks just like having something to fight over, I dunno. And now, for an appropriately-themed musical interlude.

Um...I thought the point was that people were supposed to be nicer here?
Mebbe I got the wrong memo...

Thanks for the encouragement, alley. ;D For the record, I left of my own volition. Arguably only before the banhammer could swing, but "that's the facts". Downright tragic, it was. I don't wanna dwell on it too much, tho. No point. I'd rather get on with something positive. The best has yet to come! I'm very sorry to hear your work got wiped too, Kiwi. You were doing good stuff there, and I had looked forward to seeing more. I'll be happy to discuss anything with ya as always, though. I mush on in the hope that cooler and more rational heads shall prevail.

Welp...looks like another ex-dawg in the docs stable. Not that I wasn't here all along, but rather the point is that I am no longer *there*. It would seem that they indeed cannot handle the truth. For daring to (gasp!) use science, logic, and modern technology to either prove or disprove the BA hoo-ha, my thread got yanked. My protestations only got me the threat that they were considering deleting and banning *everyone* who had promoted BA whatsoever. My succinct response? "Thanks for making it easy, then." After 4 years, this mouse is no longer simultaneously a dawg (Schrodinger, eat your heart out!).

Sucks that we all can't get along. Still, some folks simply won't allow for it when others would be just fine, so what can ya do? I try to have a thick skin, personally. Sometimes people are inexplicably mean-spirited, others may just be having a bad day/week/month/life and not be able to otherwise help it at the moment. That being said, trolls *do* have an uncanny way of finding people's rage button! I've got love for all my docs, dawgs, and university types too. Though I'm not a member, I will cheerfully admit to more than a few hours reading rebel sagas as well. I have been on both the giving and receiving ends of help on all mentioned, and am basically just grateful to have likeminded individuals to discuss things with.

I had one of the exact boxes pictured by scrappy as OE on my 1P57QMJ engine. Fits just fine, and did a decent job after some modification to open up the flow a bit. Uses the triangle paper filter with foam wrap. Has a small chamber to collect oil and a drain tube. No reason not to use this if you're using this box, as it works well. Good luck mounting a catch can if you've got one of these behemoths grafted on too. Mounting is similar to runningslow's positioning, although his box is different.

I say 'go ghetto'. Get you a big bottle of plastic airsoft pellets and you'll have all you'll likely ever need. Put them in by breaking the bead like sprocket said, or adding them at the same time you change out the valve stems. I used about 2 oz in 12" high profiles with noticeably improved result. Better yet - they make a 'swishy' sound at low speed too. Ooh! Aah!

lol Sorry, guess I was having my own little soliloquy there. ;D Still, it helps me organize my thoughts to put it down like that, and if it saves someone else some trouble (or, dare I suggest- be entertained) by reading, then so much the better. Indeed, Earthman, my cable that failed was pretty rough. Too thin to begin with, and very rusted. The wonder isn't that it broke, rather that it held up as long as it did!
