Seems they are all mechanical and come from the Factory Inaccurate as mine is also. I pay no attention to it anymore. Its the nature of the beast... In all practicality there really nothing can be done. As far as the Tach I run a Trail tech tach, just a inductive wire rapped around the Spark plug wire and is spot on.

Ok welcome 125 What is the make and model of your Scoot?? sounds like she's starving and running out of Fuel. You mention a petcock, do you still have or ever a Fuel pump? The gas cap may be vented, if this vent is not working she will run outa fuel as you describe..

Sir sorry but your verbiage and descriptions are darn near impossible to try and help you, Im sure thats why nobody has responded. Since you said you were a computer programer by trade then it should be very easy to take and post a bunch of Videos of what you have going on. Pictures and Videos say a thousand words....

Would be White smoke if she was liquid cooled sucking coolant. but its not liquid cooled. Or if a Two Stroke MX'r with a gear box the gear oil sucking thru a crank seal or case halves would be white. but theres no gear box. What type/brand injection oil are you using? Are you adding anything to your fuel?

Two Smoker, Sounds like you have a Air Leek. the Air leak will keep the R's up as your stating. The air leaks are mostly a Crank Seal. What color Smoke? Light or Dark? Bluish or Whiteish? You do Not need a new carb or reed's or oil pump.. your symptoms are darn near text book air leak..

Uhmm.. The CDI shown is Plug-N-Play. Plug it together and ride the Scooter..
Are you referring to Ignition Timing? or maybe wanting to Change to Timing with the Plug-N-Play parts you have?

The "P" engine is used in Buggy's and Yard karts... there are some dimensional change on the "P" engine.. there may even be a gearing change from your OE engine to the "P" engine anyway you can exchange the "P" engine for the correct one?

in the first place, you ordered the wrong engine, nothing is going to line up right, you are forcing a long case engine in a short case frame, the material is light and a magnet won't stick to it, because it's ALUMINUM. This has nothing to do with parts for scooters, they don't make the engines, they buy them and sell them. From what I can read, you said "four full turns" this means you torqued the crap out of the bolt, then complain when the aluminum breaks? you don't keep forcing something when it won't move, Many people here have tried to give you sound logical advice, which you seem to ignore, the first thing you should have done was compare the old and new engine, to make sure they matched, the fact that you attempted to install the wrong engine, then broke it, is no ones fault but your own. Exactly!!! This kid continuously demonstrates that he is nothing but a Butcher, didn't do any homework and ordered the Wrong engine. can't make anything run right, asks for help then outthinks himself with some wizardry that causes All his own problems over and over again... This is when retail sales sucks to have a person like this wants to file a consumer type report when its clearly there own fault.... Kids got no business owning tools I have personally dealt with Parts for Scooters. I had a costumer service issue with a front color matched wheel and they actually had people that Called Me back and in this day and age took my Word for the problem and sent me out another front color matched wheel NO CHARGE.. I offered to cover the shipping and they refused and shipped the product out no charge.. in my experience Parts for Scooters provided Stellar customer service...

Check your Ground wire. Remove it and spiff up both ends

Most likely the Carb Mixture screw is Plugged. Try simply adjusting the Idle screw itself. very simple..

Well if she's running better with the air restricted/choked down thats similar to using the actual Choke to Add Fuel. Dbl.l your efforts on the Vacuum lines that are operating your fuel pump etc, I'm unclear if your full cap is vented or not but check it. If you do find the full pump is junk I would only recommend a genuine Mikuni... Good Luck..
