I build lightweight tow-behind trailers with a 200 lb. capacity. If response to this thread warrants, I will send photos of a working prototype of what many have called a revolutionary idea (especially for trike owners). Email me ... rheshoot@yahoo.com

I found the problem shortly after I posted. The rear brake light switch was failing (intermittent contact). I found a replacement on-line for only a couple dollars. Figuring if one fails, the other can't be far behind, I ordered 2 left and 2 right. Considering that reliability of this part is critical, it's very cheaply made. I would have paid considerably more for a better-built part. Unless you have immediate access to a replacement, I suggest you get it before you need it!

With the ignition switch on, I'm getting power to the dash (fuel gauge, turn and horn) but not to the brake light from either lever. Consequently, no start switch. I can kick start it and the brake and running lights will begin to function. I think it's an intermittent short, I just can't locate it.

I could use the benefit of everyone's experience. Time to buy a new battery for my 49cc Icebear trike. I don't care about price as much as quality. Gell? Lead acid? Lithium? Could use all input before I pull out the plastic

Could someone tell me the plug gap for GY6 49cc with big bore kit. I'm trying to solve a missing/backfiring/running rich/lean issue. Thanks

Happy 4th Alleyoop! My variator mark after a speed run looks about like yours (about 1/4" from the edge). Do I want to get any closer than that? If not, what's the next step to get at least 10 mph more out of this low-end over-achiever? triker

After watching a few youtube vids, I got brave & disassembled the variator. I found flat spots on all 6 rollers. I re-assembled everything, marking the variator. After a speed run and disassembly, I found that the top of the belt rides about 1/4" from the top. First, I need to know what weight are the stock rollers in my 49cc icebear and where to buy a quality roller kit to dial in the top end. triker

I've had my 49cc Ice Bear trike for 14 months now, bought from a dealer here in Bradenton, FL. Finally, after 3 big bore kits, a blown engine, valve replacements and other issues (all under warranty), it seems to be dialed in pretty well. I sold my Hyundai Santa Fe as my work commute is only 1.5 miles. Even with all the initial problems, I'm really happy with it. As for the safety issue, obviously, if you get bumped on a 2-wheeler, you're going down. You've got a chance of staying upright in a minor collision on a trike. Besides, nothing better than the look on the cashier's face when you say "$3.00 on pump 5," and that's every 2 weeks! If your trike has a trailer hitch, I'll be happy to share the benefit of my experience with you and others on how to best utilize it.

Alleyoop Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about the mechanics of the driveline to start exploratory surgery. What I think I understand is that there is an adjustment that can be made to trade some of that rpm for top end speed. Is there a video that addresses this issue? I'm hoping that with your help and others in this forum, I'll become more informed and capable of providing help along with requesting it. What I can provide right now for trike owners is my knowledge of utilizing the towing capability at an affordable price.

I'm a brand new member. I've got a 2014 (49cc) Ice Bear trike with a big bore kit (now 80cc). Currently, it will only manage 35mph @ 9000rpm! As it is now out of warranty, I'd like to know how involved (expensive) it would be to get 45mph out of it
