alot of times it's just cheap chinese machining. if it were german I'd say use a bigger hammer.

i guess the best starting place would be to open up the transmission and see exactly what's in there.

I might be wrong but now that you have more power, (50-80cc) I'd start looking to upgrade final gearing if you're looking for more speed.

Now that riding season is upon us I'd like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to do a thorough pre-ride inspection. I rushed through mine in a hurry to ride today and ended up losing the bolt that holds the carb drain tube to the cvt cover. The hose then vibrated the drain screw loose and I ended up losing about 1/4 tank of gas before I knew what was going on. So please check everything before you ride. Ride safe and enjoy.

brake noise

on my yy150-12 the rear brakes will scream when I apply more than light pressure. brakes only have 900km on them and I've taken off the rear wheel, used brake cleaner and 400 grit paper on the shoes, cleaned the drum and adjusted the tension but they continue to make noise with any thing more than light pressure applied. I also know the 150's have enough power to over ride the rear brakes.

mike, your set up will never meet federal safety standards for motor vehicles ( 49 CFR ) and the first time a cop sees it you're gonna wish you stayed home.

my ipod will do strange things also. i think it has to do with the electromagnetic field generated from the stator causing interference but i'm not an electrical engineer so i can't be sure.

it sounds like compression may not all be there. check valve adjustment. I think it should be the same as a 150cc, alley should know. I don't know if you'll be able to tell with your finger but try this; remove the spark plug and check compression. put 1/2 tea spoon motor oil in the hole and recheck. if compression increases, the rings may need attention. your local auto parts store may have a loan a tool program where you can get hold of a compression tester.

removing the air filter may be allowing too much air in. try to cover a portion of the intake and it may be time to clean or replace the plug.
