So, the rain has been intermittent here the last few days and I've been waiting on parts to arrive. I finished removing the rest of the panels from the scoot and scrubbed 'em down for sanding . Yup, my scoot is "Nekie" Hopefully, there's still enough dry time in this season to allow me to get paint onto these in time :/ I've also got all of the hardware sitting in apple cider vinegar to remove any rust and, it's doing the job! So, I stuck some of my tools in a jar with some too ! I got a CVT belt, 12 gm sliders, and a kick start gear in today . That kickstart gear just comes off of the shaft with a puller, then I should be able to tap it back with a large socket or something, with the punch mark horizontal on the right side until it seats, and no grease? I've looked for a video but haven't found a one that deals with more than aligning the gears . Alleyoop , how are you healing up ? Doing okay?

Oh my gosh, Alleyoop ! It seems that too many peeps in my circle are having to have that surgery! I sure hope it works well for you. My closest buddy has finally had success with his. He is an HVAC guy and he was in much pain before the surgery but, is doing very well with it now. I'm sure that you have worked those hands hard. BIG hugs to you, and I hope that recuperating goes well for you ! I see what ya did there!.... "Crapal Tunnel"

Gee, Thanks! Coming from you especially, that is very encouraging! I'd like to thank the Academy... lol! No, I always make sure to thank my brother for coaching me out of any fear of working on my own vehicles yet, cautioning me to have enough apprehension to check things out before proceeding, since I was 17 years old. However, I am taking much coaching here, reading here on the forum and learning so much! As my tagline says ; "My willingness exceeds my aptitude" On the rollers, I'm thinking to go with 12gm weights thinking that, I'll sacrifice a little bit of max top speed, but will be able to get up to speed quicker for the short HWY run and the one hill that I will have to climb to my sisters, yes? Lolol! ...a "Rust animal", it IS! I think, we have found my scoots official name! Okey doke ! I've got that gear a'comin' ! Here is what I got when I dusted off and re-aligned it all. Kick Stat actuated...

That second gear , looks to me to be aligned a couple of teeth too high on the left, yes? I have not yet placed the kick lever on to actuate the gears . I will go give it a go, now.

Poofy happier? Lol, cyborg , I'm not sure that I follow but, I smiled! Ok, I FINALLY found a rig that got that bolt off. I DO have 2 rollers with bad spots on them. I weighed them at 12.7 gms. They are 14.08mm wide and 17.78mm in diameter so, 18 x 14 and 13 gm weights. Uploading this first shot of all the kickstart gears, undisturbed, it's my first look at that second gear as you mentioned Alleyoop . I'll open my pic and yours side by side to see if I can catch on to what you see

Also the not fake ones come with the logo wrap on them. Same with the BANDO belts if they don not come with their logo wrap they are fake. They are made in 3 countries, MEXICO, CHINA and USA. USA has a white thread, China none (black) and Mexico yellow. Alleyoop Alleyoop, is the above to say that the fakes or, the authentic s are made in those 3 countries? Thanks

Ive been out there trying to get that variator bolt off, lol! Good grief! A friend has an impact drill but, wont be able to be by till Friday or Saturday . I'm going to call it a night (Havent eaten today, yet). Tomorrow, with good light (Working in miserable light, on my patio. 2 drop lights, STILL not good light) I'll check on those gears. I had never tried kickstarting it myself since, he said it wasn't working and I wanted to get my eyes on the gears first. Thank you, Alleyoop !

I just added a 7th pic to the post, was able to get my lens back there. I was able to get an eyeball on that first gear for now, and it is sitting in front of the second gear. So far, my untrained eye doesn't see anything obvious. Yes, my next trick will be to get that variator off. I may try a 2x4 piece of wood, a hole saw for access to the nut and drill holes to put some holders for the slots on the variator fan

Yes, I was surprised to assess that the belt was sitting well ( according to your posted info before). I don't have another belt but, will probably get one just to be sure that I'm good . Ok, on the compressed air. I saw a tank type setup at Harbor Freight last week, maybe it's time for that, with a coupon I will try a dry chip brush for the time being. I'll go out to clean it up a bit now to see if I can get some clearer pics in there. Thanks again, Alleyoop !

So, obviously, I'll have to do a lot of cleaning before I can even begin to assess the condition of anything in here. I'm watching a few vids right now on servicing these components. Any suggestions on what is best to clean this case and parts with? I think I have denatured alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, industrial de-greaser, maybe some brake and/or carb cleaner.
