I have finally completed my scooter and it is on the road!!After an air compressor and I'ma flywheel removal tool purchase, I pulled the stator off the old engine and the new engine and swapped them. Obviously it was a wiring problem, because as soon as I started it all was well on planet earth!! Alleyoop, I want to thank you for all your help as well as all the others who offered suggestions. Without you guys I probably would have given up but you kept me moving in the right direction. All hail scootdoc!!

Ok, here is what I found. When I unplug the connector from the stator I get very little ac voltage (2 or 3v) from the yellow or white wire. When I plug it back in I get 30v ac at the R/R from the yellow wire but very little from the white wire (2 or 3v)?

I started the scoot, unplugged the connector from the stator and put the red lead from the meter to the yellow wire and the black lead to ground, how much voltage should I get at the connector?

I won't be able to get a R/R until tomorrow. I'll keep you posted, thanks.

Yup, and all give continuity. I don't know what else to do.

There is a yellow, green, and white wire from the stator to a 4 pin connector. There is also a black wire with a red strip and a blue wire with a white strip in single bullet connectors. The R/R on my scoot has just a connector on it but the connector that plugs into it has a red, yellow, white, and green wire.

Ok, here is what I did Sunday; I checked the charge on the battery while reving the motor, went up to 14.9 but never over. Checked the green wire from the R/R and got continuity. I Checked the R/R and the new one that came with the motor is a 5 pin female while the one on the scoot is a 4 pin male.

No buzz from turn signals. Here is what I have observed; when I start the scoot, everything works, but after a few minutes the lights start to dim. As soon as I use the rear brake lever the lights brighten, but as soon as I let go they dim again and even if I drive or rev the motor they only brighten when I use the brake lever. Like I said earlier, I get continuity through all the ground wires from the upper wire harness through to the lower wire harness. Could there be a short in the brake lever switch? I haven't replaced the regulator/rectifier, could it be that?

I checked every green wire for continuity and every one beeped from the engine ground and frame ground. Checked engine to frame and battery, good. The only one I couldn't check is the rear brake lever start/stop switch to the connector at the upper wire harness because it is sealed.

I did the gy6 swap on my 150cc. I was able to drive it 1 day to work and back and when I left for work this morning all the lights that run off of the voltage regulator, headlights, dash lights, etc. won't work unless I hold my rear brake lever on? When I release the lever they go out? Any wisdom for this, could it be the regulator?

It was the ignition switch. Put the new switch in last night and voom!! Thanks so much alleyoop. Just need to slap all her panels back on and tighten her up and I'm good to go.

No alarm. The fuse is good, but how do I test the ignition? Touch the red multimeter wire to red, ignition off, do I do anything with the black multimeter wire? Is it the same with the black wire except ignition on? And should it read 12+ volts?
