hi there got to the end of this issue, it was that i had put the earth to the coil from the cdi to frame earth, i am used to working on larger bikes with dc systems. i think you may have misunderstood what i was saying with the auto choke, i was testing to see if i had the same effect when plugged in and unplugged to prove that the fast running state continued under both situations proving that the enrichment circuit was not shutting off.i am quite handy with a multimeter and was using vac. i have built large custom bikes and trikes for 30 years and run my own parts service now, just not had much to do with small chinese scooters. i do however run a honda sh50 in a local moped racing series and have made some radical changes to the engine including porting blue printing piston and duration mods. its a bit of a long term project but increases performance all the time. could upload some info if you like. (ijunked the ac system and run a dc total loss system using ni cad drill batteries) saves on drag in the stator.

hi all just got my daughters cpi aragon on the road after replacing every component in the ignition circuit only to finally find out that the wires in the cdi block were not gripping the pins! anyhoo since then she has used it a few times and it has got more issues, firstly when warm, the revs would not go down at tick over, checked for inlet leaks and finally looked at the enricher circuit, the auto choke worked well on a bench test, not on the bike. tested the bike from cold with the choke wires disconnected the result was exactly the same high revving as when the it was connected. the lights have been playing up too and i believe that they will be on an ac circuit the same as the choke? tested dc voltage going to the battery and it measured 3 volts............. so tested power to regulator in one lead is at 40v the other nothing. bike has just had a new stator, could it be the ac resistor? anyone know what the value should be? im getting 11.4. ohms any help would be hugely appreciated.

ok finally got to the issue with this scooter, the electrical connectors inside the cdi connector block were all loose, everyone of them! they did not grip the tags on the cdi and make a good contact hence all my tests with the meter with the probe would not find the issue.i rewired the cdi and all is good.

doctor please help me! i have a terrible affliction! i bought a cpi aragon 125 2013 model for my daughter, was fine till i took it for m.o.t test. The scooter wouldnt start so m.o.t was aborted! very embarassing as i break bikes and sell parts for a living! that was 2 weeks ago. since then i have put in loads of time but still have the same issue. there is no spark. have changed (brand new) cdi twice, new plug, coil, stator and pick up even though the original tested at 65v ac and 1 vac. all wires have been checked, ac voltage and trigger getting to cdi, earth has had an extra wire, kill switch no continuity when ignition on. i think the issue is due to no output recorded going to coil from cdi. on occasion i have had readings from the cdi to coil black and white, to earth up to around 50vac over a few seconds this drops away eventually to no reading. capacitor giving out any power it has? any ideas? i am all out!.
