Alright so I opened up the variator and yes, the rollers were out of place but they also seemed kind of worn-out (bare in mind i bought this scooter second hand). Anyway after I placed all the rollers back in place and started up the moped it worked great! Not as good as it had done from the start, it reved up to about 7000RPM and it didnt seem like it was limited or didnt feel wrong at all. But sadly as I got to a crossing I stopped to let people cross and as I set off again it became limited to 6000RPM again and was running awfully. Do I have to change the variator and the rollers?

I wonder if the jolt did not get the rollers in the variator out of position or jamb the sliders so it wont shift freely. thanks for the reply. I'll check that out and see if that's the problem.

If your engine won't go past 6000 rpm why would fuel consumption go up?,,,,what size engine? 50cc or 150? It's a 50cc, 4-stroke scooter

Hello! I'm not sure if this forum is dead or not but I'm so desperate at this point I may aswell give it a try. Anyway what happened was I was riding my chinese znen scooter (used to go about 70kmh) and as I was riding I didn't notice a speedbump up ahead so I went over it full speed (60-70kmh) making me fly up about half a meter up into the air, giving me the shock of my life. I didn't stop accelerating as I was in the air though because it came as such a suprise so when I landed the moped wouldn't rev over around 5000RPM making my top speed very low (around 30-40kmh). As I returned home I ordered many parts and changed them including: the exhaust system, carburetta, rear view mirrors (why not), fuel and oil filter and some other various things. My moped sounds better and starts up easier, however I can no longer go over 6000RPM, limiting my top speed and making my engine rev its knackers off increasing fuel consumption. Sorry for the long wall of text but I'm absolutely stumped as of what it could be and help would be HIGHLY appreciated! /Squirt Sorry about that I also forgot to add that it revs fine all the way up to 10000RPM when it's on the stand
