Hi Everyone, I have a 2020 baodiao scooter with the 139 qmb motor. It has just under 500 miles. I am in Florida & we dont get cold weather often BUT last night it got down to 45. My scooter is in a garage not left outside. When I went to start it today it was very difficult and it took many tries to get it going.
When it finally started it stumbled and fumbled a bit until it warmed up & I rode it bout 7 miles with only 1 issue that is very low idle and a couple of times it stalled out but restarted on the 1st try. I did try to adjust the idle and no matter how I turn the screw the scooter occasionally didn't react to turning that screw. I don't see any way to adjust the carburetor other than that one screw. Everything looks tight & ok no loose hoses & no smell of fuel.
I wonder if replacing the carburetor would solve the issue? I also went out 5 hours later and it started right up BUT has that low idle issue. It fluctuates from 700 rpm to over 3800 rpm.
Carbs are cheap so maybe replace it? any ideas??

I finally found it sandwiched in there halfway between the speedo and the headlights. It took some time to pull it up but I got it and it won't come loose again

I have a 2020 Gator 50-E3 scooter got it brand new and with only putting 143 miles on it yesterday the Speedometer/odometer stopped working. I took the speedometer assembly out and I can see where the cable came out, BUT I dont see the nut that goes over the thread to hold the cable in place. I wish I took a pic of it sorry. But I used electrical tape to hold it in place so it works now BUT I want to fix it the right way.
I wonder how I can get the part I need to screw it on the speedo assembly. And what size that part is?
I looked pretty good in there where the wires go but sure didn't see it.
Any suggestions how or where to get the right part to attach the speedo cable to the assembly and what that partis actually called??

Today is day 2 with my new scooter. It is a a BD50QT-2A 49CC - scooter made by Jiangsu Baodiao Locomotive Co.
I decided to ride it 5 miles and then change the motor oil and also the gear oil. I used Castrol Hypoid 80/90 gear oil & Castrol GTX Motor Oil 10W40. Then I rode it 20 more miles varying my speed & not going faster than 30 MPH.It ran very well.
When I got back I rechecked the fluids, tire pressure and gave a general look at the scooter. I did notice this clip that does not seem to be clipped to anything.
Does anyone know what it goes to? Or is it where it needs to be.

With only 35 miles on my scooter. I have a 2020 BD50QT-2A 49CC - Single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke scooter.
I did already change my oil. I used Castrol GTX 10W30.
I would like to know at what mileage I should consider full synthetic?
I was going to change to Castrol POWER1® 4T Motorcycle Oil, 10W40
I was told this is a great oil to use when I change over to full synthetic?
At what mileage is it "safe" to change from conventional oil to full synthetic?
Also, which oil do you like best??
It has great reviews and is formulated for 4 stroke 49 cc engines.
your thoughts??
and when should I change from regular to synthetic? I currently have 35 miles on my scooter and did 1 oil change yesterday.

Today we purchased a BD50QT-2A 49CC - scooter made by Jiangsu Baodiao Locomotive Co.
The dealer that sold us our scooter 2 years ago took mine back in on trade and we traded for this one brand new. we gave him $200 and our scooter. This one has 12 inch wheels and is a bit bigger, quieter & it has a BD1P 139QMB motor ( GY-6 ? )
I have never heard of Jiangsu Baodiao Locomotive Co. have you??
We rode the scooter about 2 miles before we bought it, and it feels solid. It started right up and seems like a good one so will see.
This makes the 2nd scooter that we have bought from this same small shop.
We are retired and we use it only for pleasure riding and never go on roads that are 45 MPH there are too many idiots and we dont want to become a statistic. We have many places we can ride in our town.
I wonder if anyone knows anything about Jiangsu Baodiao Locomotive Co.

Are Honda Metropolitan scooters worth the difference in price compared to these Chinese cheaper scooters? I can get A 2018 with "0" miles on it from a Honda Dealer for 3000- out the door with a luggage trunk I would need. BUT 3000 < I have a hard time with that. IS the difference in quality really worth the $2,000 difference in price? I know there are some nice differences like fuel injection. But the cost difference? IF it is worth it we can do it. BUT I can get 3 scooters for the price of just 1 Honda. The name "Honda" seems to equate to quality, is it really worth it?? your thoughts?

Hello Everyone, I am pleased to report that my JiaJue Gator 50 49 cc scooter has been almost trouble free and is approaching 1000 miles. The only issue I had was a worn spark plug at about 800 miles. I am a bit surprised that I have had no issues. I am curious what you might recommend I do and at what mileage so I can keep my scooter running well.
When the spark plug was replaced we also were told that the brake pads in the front were about 60% gone and I may want to get the brakes done or at least rechecked at about 1300 miles. I am thinking at about that mileage I will have the brakes done, new drive belt as well as a carburetor clean and adjustment & replace the brake fluid with new & have the valves adjusted.
We are retired and like to use it for pleasure riding and do not want to get stuck somewhere. I honestly did not think this scooter would have been this trouble free ( aside from the hard start issue from a bad spark plug) the story with that was I tried to replace it myself and when putting the new plug in, and it fell in the housing and I couldn't get it out so the scooter shop tech came over and got it and when he did, thats when he looked over the scooter and gave his recommendation for the next service.
Even now it starts right up, and runs well We get the scooter up to 40 mph and it easily handles going that speed for some time. I though dont keep it going full throttle for long we run it easy usually 30 mph and enjoy riding along the neighborhood and the 10 mile ride around our lake that is in town.
I am deciding perhaps in the spring to get a new one and not do the maintenance and sell this one for a few hundred bucks? I am not sure at what age or mileage that these things start failing, but so far over the past 18 months, this has been a good little soccer.

I have the opportunity to get another new scooter. For the past year, I have had a Gator 50 made by JiaJue. It has just over 800 miles on it. Other than 3 oil changes and 1 gear lube change and a new battery it has been trouble-free. I use it for pleasure riding, we live across from a lake and can drive it around the lake and the surrounding neighborhood and make a nice 10-mile pleasure ride. We also ride around our community and take it to the clubhouse, pool and in general use it on 35 mph streets. We are retired and use it for pleasure. I have the chance to get a brand-new one and may do so BUT safety is a concern. I have read a lot of articles that discourage the Chinese GY6 knockoff because they are not as safe. My neighbor wants my scooter and I am tempted to sell to him and get a new one for about a 100 dollar difference. My neighbors know how well I take care of it and they want one. So, if I do it I was thinking of another similar to mine. But again, safety and break downs are a concern.
It is either LUCK or perhaps I got a good scooter because my GY6 has not left me stranded and starts, drives and rides nice, However, I am a little overboard with maintenance and don't drive it all the time and it gets easy pleasure use not daily heavy traffic driving.
I am curious what you think of the Chinese GY6 4 stroke scooters VS spending a lot more for a fuel-injected better made scooter.
IF I drove it daily and didn't use it for pure pleasure riding I would consider a better-built scooter.
Having good luck with my last GY6 makes me wonder if getting another would be a roll of the dice.?
