Ok I jacked it up. I can't make anything slip. The tire on the other side will start spinning the opposite way despite the brakes if I put enough force on it. Yeah the axle may have slipped out that much. What do I try now?

I am just about ready to scream! I'm gonna pick up some gear oil and put it back together today. Take it for a spin around the neighborhood. Once it starts it's crap I'll video tape it. Maybe that will help. Will it hurt anything to drive it without the cvt cover on? I'd like to be able to see in there once it starts.

You'll have to click on the picture to watch the video :/ OK, here is the only play in my hubs. same for both sides. the forward/backward play is it. You can't really tell but side to side and up and down have 0 play at all. 2 washers total between the hub and castle nut. I just double checked my gears before putting them back in as well. no problems at all. the bell housing on the clutch is fine. the pads on the 3 clutch arms are fine. the splines in the hub and on the axle are fine. No metal shavings/dust in any of it.

there is plenty of pad left... I don't think they are glazed myself. they are smooth, but not glassy.

I don't see any rounding on the hub splines. ugh.... ok Alley, the clutch slipping.... what can I do about that? Oh and it will do it after it's warmed up too. It was doing it after I rode it about 20 minutes going to the gym so I'm sure it was warmed up.

Trike was made 2010/04/03 by the plate on the side so I'm guessing April 3rd 2010?

Ok so I"m off today. I just need to pull the hubs off and look at the splines in the hub for being rounded?

Hell, if it's as common a problem as all that, it might be worth it to have your shop make afew and sell them on here.
I didn't notice any damage on the hub splines when I had em apart to tighten the castle nuts. I wouldn't know whom to email to get a new axle sent.

So the splines on the inside of the axle may be damaged? Ill have to wait until tomorrow to pull a wheel off. At this rate its kinda running out of options on what coukd be wrong.
As for the year, all i know for sure is its an 09. Anyplace i could look on it for an actual date made?

No alley. The only bolt going into the axle tube is the one going directly up from the bottom of the fender mount.. I believe it can be seen in your picture as the bottom left bolt bearly in the picture. No holes there either where one may have rattled out.
