Ok oh mighty guru of trikes, no missing bearing. the chain has about a half inch of play. looks to be straight. you take a look and see what's missing. First this is inside the gearbox after removing the gears. BTW the gears show 0 wear. no nicks no nothing. gear oil I drained was clean no metal shavings either. This is the cover plate you had me remove to get into the gear box. This is a close up of the final drive bearing. Is it really a bearing in there or just a spacer? If it's just a spacer then maybe I don't have the bearing after all. You judge. A couple of the chain.

Yeah no reverse on mine. I was gonna pull the clutch to look for that bearing anyways. If I gotta dig in there for those gears anyway then I'll keep it torn down. Where would I buy the new gears?

As always, your a priceless source of info! Hell, atleast I'm starting to throw around some of these terms with some degree of competence lol.
Q2. Chain Jumping Teeth? I do not think the noise your hearing is the CHAIN. Look straight from the REAR SPROCKET TO THE FRONT SPROCKET, if the Rear Axle is out of LINE the chain will NOT LOOK STRAIGHT. You will be able to tell if the chain is out of wack.
But the reason your asking about the chain jumping teeth, I AM GUESSING that when your starting OFF it is JUMPING ON YOU (IS THAT CORRECT)?
Yes your right. It's only on takeoff. At first I tried tightening the hubs, that didn't work. Now i've been in the process of trying to see if the bearing is missing, but I don't think that's it now. Not after trying to get the clutch out and hearing it pop while my head is down beside it. I'll still pull it off to look as I need to change the gear oil anyways while I'm down there. I'll pull that rear deck off this evening and look at that chain too.
Any recommendations on where to find those taller gears?

Ok first, what is the importance of the gasket on the cvt/cover? Mine tore when I pulled my cover off. Should I order a replacement or just use some forma gasket?
If my chain is jumping teeth, how can I tell?
Is there a way without an impact or expensive tool to get the clutch out?
I'm a fat guy. 350lbs. I want more top end. It's only going about 50 now. I plan to get the taller tires. Should I change the variator/clutch? If so I think I'll do a dr pulley variator. What weights should I run? Would it be cheaper or as effective to put new weights in the old variator or just get the whole new system?
How do I tell my engine rpm?
Lastly rather than all this, anyone wanna trade a running magnum for a yamaha 4x4 atv?

Yeah what load range should I look at on these? I'm seeing a B rated to 905 a C rated to 1100, etc.

I love that. I actually saw this idea on another forum. Looked at the same trailer at hf. Once the kinks are worked outta my trike I plan to get a setup like this. Have some paint made to match the trike and paint the whole thing. May also make a new trailer hitch so I can maybe get 100lbs of gear in it.

cvt cover off. clutch is being a pain now. no tool for it.
Is there a way for me to get the nut off to remove the clutch without having that tool or an impact?

Well bad news. The hubs didnt fix it. Looks like I will need a write up on how to drop that back end and rip apart everything. 3 day weekend Coming up, looks like I'll be busy. Sigh. Where can I order that bearing? I'd like to have one on hand. If it turns out the case is cracked, well then we will go from there.

Dunno yet alley, blasted storms have kept me from riding today. I did however take both rear wheels off to find both castle nuts loose. I added a washer each, tightened them down, and put new pins in them. It didn't do it on the trip around the block I took. I"m just tryin to knock out everything while it's down.

Ok, next on my list is that my front brakes squeel loudly, but only after it has been used a couple of times. I checked out the pads and they seem fine. lots of meat there. fluid level is fine. any ideas?
