Brian, did you ever fix your problem? I'm having the exact same problem with my Lance Duke 250 after it took a hard fall. Was a wire simply loose? Was a wire touching metal. Was a wire "gasket" bad?

Oh yeah, there's also a mystery oil I'm wondering if anyone can identify. There was a clear yellow tube on the left side of the bike. I thought the mystery part was supposed to the connect to the clear yellow tube. However, before I realized the clear yellow tube was blocked, I tore the tube off the coupling. Can anyone identify what type of oil is in the tube? I marked with red the coupling the tube was ripped away from. The oil feels like motor oil but it looks gooey - like it's filled with gunk. It feels like the oil, whatever it is, shouldn't look like that. Many thanks again. Attachments:

My Lance Duke 250 took a hard fall on the right side. I experienced some problems so I opened it up and found this part that has two hoses that are disconnected. On the photo, I circled the mystery part. Can anyone identify it? Regarding the two disconnected hoses, one is narrow and the other is a little wider. On the mystery part, I see two holes on the bottom - one smaller and one bigger. The smaller hose does fit nicely into the smaller hole, but the larger hose does not. But, I cannot find anything the larger hose should be attached to. Regarding my problem: there's an apparent electrical problem. When my scooter dies, the glass fuse is blown. After replacing the fuse, I get anywhere from 10 feet to 25 miles of riding before the the fuse is blown again. Actually, sometimes, the fuse is blown immediately after I turn the ignition without even starting the engine. I'm guessing the problem is a short circuit somewhere, but I'm wondering if the problem is the rectifier. Can anyone identify the mystery part tell me where the hoses should be? And does anyone have any insight regarding the electrical problem? Thanks everyone. Attachments:
