Well you Yankees can make fun of us Rebels all you want but I note that a lot of Yankee 18 wheelers kack knifed on our Atlanta express ways tying up traffic to the point of shutting down sections of it. Our scrapers and sanders werem ready for this one and did a great job. However the weather froze every thing solid again and the black ice was terrible. But to be fair we had a lot of 4 wheelers trying to run at 60 mph after being warned about the situation and being told to stay off the xway. Once wrecked or stuck the wreckers could not get to them for all the shut downs on the road. Stupid is as stupid does wheather it be Atlanta, Birmingham, or NYC..(not aimed at you, Rich or JR or any body else. My personal disclaimer!!! 8^) }

Just wondering. My family immigrated to this country from England and settled inPutnam Vally a couple of centuries ago. All my critters are crated here in my office, sleeping and avoiding eye contact that might mean that they want to go out. These are sensible southern dogs!!!!! I went out to take some pics and promptly fell on my butt. Obviously the critters are smarter than me!!

KZ, Labs are bred for this sort of water and will retrieve game from lakes in it. They have an oily coat that sheds water and agreat temperaments. My Beagles though it was fun but got bored when they realized that there were no rabbits out to chase. The thing that you need to keep in mind is that we dont get this sort of weather down here very often. When we do we are not prepared for it. Are you anywhere near Putnam Valley?

This morning the snow fall measures 6" here on the hill with 2-4 more to come, snow today and sleet, freezing rain later in the day. The freezing rain is the bad boy. Trees will come down, power will be off, phones out, not a pretty pictue. A state of emergancy has been declared for the whole state. We live on a hill in the county, not even thinking of driving. Wife willl work from home. My old retired show dog kennel is in shock. Go out in THAT? You HAVE to be kidding!! My Beagles, IGs and terriers are good for about as long as it takes to do their business. My rescue tweenie doxie will drag his equipment in the snow. Rich, for an otherwise quite intelligen man you are indeed crazy!!! 8^)

I read the AU article on the Piaggio Fly and I think that that proves my point. Piaggio expects quality in manufacturing and delivers quality to the market place. This company makes quite a few varieties of brands in the scooter market.they have their people in the Chinese and Taiwanese factories overseeing the process. Now I own two Chinese scoots. One has been reliable and the other is the poster child for bad Chinese quality. The Chinese will make what the market will support. In other words the importer will get the quality he is willing to pay for. And that reflects onto what the buyer is willing to pay. You will get what you are willing to pay for.It is safe to say that in most cases if you buy a cheap product you will get a cheap product 90% of the time. By the way, is Fly still being imported into the US? I seem to remember that there was a question about that. for the product.

Birmingham has already had snow, has it not? They are predicting up to 5" in my area on Monday, then3rd snow/ice storm in 4 weeks. Locks us in here on the hill top till the somewhat vertical driveway thaws. This may be our worst winter in 50 years if this keeps up. An warm day lately would be in the 50's. Much colder than average.

Piaggio makes Vespa. Vespa is an overpriced but well made status symbol. Piaggio owns49% of TGB(Taiwan Golden Bee) sokd here under the Peirspeed label. I have two TGB/Peirspeed Delivery scoots, one is a 2005 150cc that has 7000 miles on it, maxes out at 65, and has given me no trouble. I am about to buy a TGB/Peirspeed R9i sports scooter, 150 cc.. $7000.00 for the Vespa, $2500.00 for TGB/Peirspeed R9i. For me the Vespa is not logical, the TGB is. This is ypour wallet on Vespa )( , and this is your wallet on TGB ( )!!!
