I grew up in the WNC mountains and my pals all hunted for the table. We are talking 12 year old kids. For many of those families it would be the only way to put meat on the table. One kid I knew would be given 3 .22 shells and he had better bring back 3 squirrels, rabbits, what ever, 3 shells, etc. If he could not count for a shell that did not get game he got a dressing down. It was just the way of life for them in those days. Welfare of any kind was not acceptable, these people were poor but proud and they took care of their own. All of tose kids turned out to be good adults. Compare that to today and think about it a bit. By the way do not make rabbit a regular table treat. The meat is too lean and you will need a little fat or the body rebels.

JR, yep, curves like that but mountains twice as high. The Ark. mountains are beautiful! Rich, not so much stones as it is an old man who refuses to admit that he is scared s@@@*&& and determined to make the journey. The other riders left me far behind but were very supportive. One lesson learned--empty the huge top trunk on a TGB Delivery before riding these roads. The bike tends to be top heavy. Pix will be on line soon hopefully. I are compooter illiterate so took throw away camera pix, will have them developed along with a disc and then my daughter in law/office manager will take over. Rich, you are close to the area, so ride it but not in the winter. You will love it.

Pix will be on as soon as we get them developed and disced. Great riding country but you have to be careful a lot of really steep grades and hairpin curves WNC is really rough mountain land but beautiful. A lot of scooters and motercycles this time of the year.

Just back from 3 days in the mountains around Bryson City, NC. It was like home coming as I was raised is Asheville, not too far from Bryson City. Rode the Road to Nowhere, The Blue Ridge Parkway, and yesterday rode up to Deals Gap, ate lunch at the Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort, great hamburgers and reasonable prices. There were over 200 motorcycles of all kinds there as well as a good count of scooters. In my group there were 2 TGB Delivery 150s and both were crowd draws. The bikers all wanted to see what was in the really big top trunks that the Delivery has. Every one was cordial and there were no put downs as to what you rode. If it was 2 or 3 wheels it was accepted. Then, having ridden the Tail of The Lizzard, as I called the twisty road up to Deals Gap, we took on the Tail of The Dragon. 318 curves in 11 miles. As soon as you are on the Tail you are in TN.. Pretty well patrolled, saw one BMW bike that made on sharp curve just to run off the road and wipe out the front end of the bike. It was getting on a wrecker as I creeped by. I took it slow having decided to be a live coward rather that a dead hero. As a aside, the DealS Gap Motorcycle Resort has a tree growing in front of the building called the Tree of Shame, festooned with bits and pieces of wrecked bikes and sports cars. Had crotch rocket riders passing us on curves(the is a two lane road) doing knee drags on curves marked 10 mph speed limit. Fascinating to watch the suicidally motivated riders. Every year there are several who dont make the round trip and go home in a box. Put on 150 miles yesterday and a total of 300 for the three days. Pix will follow as soon as I can get them developed. PS: TGB Deliveries are top heavy due to the size of the box. OK on regular roads but a challenge on the extremely twisty WNC 2 lane roads.

Thanks, guys. Stellas have a 150 cc 2 stroke engine except in CA where they have 4 strokers. I sent an enquiry to the person wanting to sell the subject unit on Craigslist but so far no reply.I am leaving this afternoon for Bryson City, NC for a weekend MRA ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway, The Road to Nowhere, and possibly the Dragon Tail on Monday. Best to do the DT after the MC's and sports cars get thru launching themselves into outer space on the weekends.

Does anybody here have any experience with the Stella? It is basically an Indian made in partnership with Piaggio Vespa clone. 4 speed, 150 cc, a bit more expensive than the Chinese andTaiwanese bikes but not as high as the Vespa. Imported by Genuine. There is one available in Atlanta, 04 model with side car for $3200.00. I might be interested but want to know more about reliability issues. There are 4 dealers in the Atlanta area carrying this unit.

If it was before me it had to be FDR. That would put you in the 80-90 age range. If so then great!! I am no longer the oldest one here, not sure that I ever was. I was born in FDR's Presidentcy and was 9 when he died.

Yes, Luke. Truman was President when I entered High School and in 1952 Eisenhour was elected to the office. He defeated the Democrat, Stevenson. I quit high school in 53 but did get into college on a GED when I was 20.

Porsche Super 90 came out in 1960. I saw several around Atlanta and hungered for one but had a wife and 4 kids at that time so it was out of the question. A beautiful sports car!!

I saw the Messerschmidt at a dealers place on Ponce De Leon Ave. in Atlanta, middle 50's about the same time that I saw the first Porche Gullwing sports car, same ave., diffferent dealer.Thought the Messerschmidt was novel and hungered for the Porsche. If I remember correctly it cost around $5-6000.00. I am going on 75 and need to get busy and build some new memories!!!! I am that age where I can remember a lot of useless info from years gone by and cant remember what I had for lunch yesterday.

Carver One reminds me of the old Morgan 3 wheeled sports car and the Nissan brings the Messerschmidt of the early 50's to mind. The Morgan did not lean and the Messerschmidt's whole front end opened out as a door. The Carver should come with free barf bags!!! Wow! Those turns are like a carnival ride. As Daffy Duck would say, "you are deshpicable!". Boy am I jealous or what? Seriously, that was a great buy and it opens your riding perimeters considerably. And you still have the IB trike for intown riding. RNR Trikes up the road in Jasper has a 2005 Honda Reflex 250 wirh 2823 miles and a TowPac conversion but they want $7999.00 for it and it is a much smaller bike than yours. I can get good low milage 2 or 3 year old Piaggio MP3 500s in about the same price range. One local guy had a 2010 model with 2500 miles on it and it was 2 months old. Lists in our area tax and all for about $10500.00 He started at $7100.00 and kept dropping the price til someone bought it for $6500.00 last week. I am going to play with the TGB til next spring and see what I have in the old savings account. Might sell a couple of mine then too. So, good on you, Oop and congrats. Also I thought that you did a good job of communication with others on that forum.
