He still has his IceBear trike, JR. A lot of us have a mix, I have 2 Chinese, 2 Taiwanese, and 1 Slovanian. Did have a Partridge in a Pear Tree but ate it at Christmass. I will catch another one tho. My other big 'wish I could afford it" scoot would be a Piaggio MP3 500. (I can do a single post but I cant spell 'good' What can I say? I am old!!!)

Hi, Alley Oop. I see from another forum that you now have a Burgman Exec. 650 with a voyager kit for highway use. What do you think of it and how does it ride? I am jealous because that is one of the scoots that I would love to have. You mention that you are keeping the Ice Bear for in town riding. Makes goos sense to me. (See, I can make a post without doubling it!!! Sometimes 8^( )

Thanks, Jim. Who does make the Roketa Spyder?? Roketa and Tank were at one time made in the same plant. Just curious. My drwam would be to own a Piaggio MP3 500 but that is for sure a dream. A little rich for my pocket book.

As per my 'bio' I have 5. My wife bought the first one, the Tank 150, at an auction as a gift. Since then I have owned a Tank 250 which I traded for my fav ride the TGB Del. 150, and have bought a Tomos Revival, a TGB/Peirspeed Del. 50, and an IceBear 150-8(my ride to the mail box and back if I am lucky--and I still am masochistic enough to like it!!). The Tomos is the motorhome bike. and I would sell the Tank and the Del. 50 but my wife, who will not ride one says to keep them all in case gas goes up to the $5.00 mark or higher. And I always listen to my wife. We have some plans for the TGB Del. 150 and if we can ever get the project off the ground I will give a report on it. If I had known about the Taiwanese TGB line that is all I would have ever owned. Releable, well built, reasonably priced, and the Del.150 has 6200 miles on it with out major problems. The 150 Del and a 150 reg. scooter in the line have GY6 oil cooled motors that produce 10.1 hp, enough to top out at 65. Whats not to like?

I use full synthetic in my 150 crankcases and I use synthetic 75/90 in my 150 trannies(rear ends?). I was told that synthetic in the trannys would give me an increase in pickup and overall speed and so it did. My TGB Del 150 now cruises on 55 at half throttle instead of 3/4 and tops out at 64 instead of 60. It picks up speed faster too. So far no leaks (except for the trike and it leaks like a sieve and always has) However I think that what ever oil works for you is the oil to use. I change both every 1000 miles.

I am with Rich and Scootaway. I always wear a reflective vest summer and winter over my jacket. If you wear the highway workers safety vest they cant help but see you. You hope!!

Tommy, I keep up with the Asheville weather as I have 2 sons who live there and I was raised there. It is about time for it to start cooling down there in the Smokies. Here in the NGA and Atlanta area we had 7 weeks of record breaking high 90's and heat indices over 100 degrees. It was HOT, humid, and unpleasant. Am going on a group ride in a couple of weeks on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Will take my TGB Del. 150 and possibly my Tomos Revival on the back of my TTMH. (TTMH= teeny tiny motor home). Should be fun. Will wear helmet, heavy jeans, boots, gloves, and a WindShear jacket. It gets chilly up there in the mornings. Shorts, T shirts, and tenny pumps are a great way to get a gravel tattoo and leave a lot of your own hide on the highway if you go down. Personally I am rather attached to my 74 year old hide and plan to keep it as long as possible.

Thanks, Tonya, for clearing up who is who . I thought that might be the case. Stay with this group and you will recieve a lot of good info and encouragement. When you can, practice in empty parking lots and at slow speeds at first. As your confidence grows so will your riding skills. Two rules to follow are: 1. always wear correct safety clothing, ie; helmet, correct shoes, good safety jacket, Jeans or some sort of durable leg wear, and riding gloves. 2. Always be aware of your surroundings especially at intersections. Keep an eye out for safe exits in case your scoot has a problem. Watch the cagers at all times!! You are small, they are big and many times unobservent of what is going on around them. Remember that it is about the ride and enjoy it.

What am I missing here, gentlemen? Tyscoots bio beside the message indicates that he is male but Tonya is the person requesting advise. My guess is that Tonya is a family member and while some of us have answered her some have answered him. All have given good advise. So take your time learning to ride, go slow at first til you are comfortable, take the courses(here is GA they are taught on 250 motorcycles) and enjoy the ride.

We are thankful that you have survived. It seems that earthquakes are no strangers to New Zealand. Please keep us posted as to your well being and let us see those videos of the situation.

I think that Rich has given you good advise, check the 2 stroke manual. Have you checked the CDI? I had a starting problem on my TGB Delivery 50 and it turned out to be the CDI failing. Does it turn over at all, ie: try to start but doesnt?

Way to go, CC. You endured all the hardships but came home with a BIS!!!!! That should make it all worth it.
