How about a pic of the bike?...since there are just too many goofy names out there.
If the trunk latch is accessed via the ignition switch, simply remove the front body panel and manipulate the cable. If it's accessed via the side lock, you can usually reach up and manipulate the cable that way.

We've seen this three times in the past 6 years.... and the first one was mine. All were replaced under warranty. Something about 'Bad castings". But with the bozo's now running CFMoto...good luck.
