What's the matter with a couple of new lock washers?... if your old ones are flattened or out of shape, just try a couple of new ones. Check for snugness at each oil change.....have never found mine to work loose.

"Noted, though I was asking about Jonway as a company, if they put out hobbies or bikes."
I think that totally depends on who owns and operates it. Any crate scooter is going to need a complete and thorough PDI. This is the #1, most important thing to do after purchase (new or used). After that, if operated as they were intended, they can be very dependable.
My Jonway just clicked ove the 5400 mile mark today. Now, I know thats not a ton of miles...but...it has never let me down, except for the battery that pooped the bed after 2 years and 3 months. Even then, 15 minutes of the trickle charger got me in business. Then just plugged it in at night, til the new battery arrived. I have never cleaned the carb...the air filter hasn't been touched since installation 5100 miles ago, the spark plug along with all other engine electrics are original equipment, the tank of gas that I just burned, (refilled today) delivered 86.42 mpg.... BUT....I don't drive it like I stole it..
Not saying Jonway is the best of the best, and not suggesting you buy one....just saying a lot depends on how it starts it's life, and how it's treated later... No PDI....Hard breakin....jack rabbit starts....WOT all the time....leaving it out in all weather conditions. None of this is good if you expect any kind of service out of it. But don't take my word for it, afterall, I bougt my first Honda engine in 1965...so I'm still kinda new at this stuff.

Yeah, it's steel... if you want to call it that. The thing is two years old so even if it was still under warranty what are they gonna do, give me another POS motor mount? If you've seen my other posts you'll know that I already replaced all the bushings in this thing with urethane. Guess I'll have to reengineer this whole thing now. Sucks... About 8 years ago, I decided a good winter project would be to re bush the suspension on my 66 Pontiac LeMans. I ordered all urethane bushings from Summit, or Jegs (can't remember which) and set about replacing every bushing on both the front and rear of the car. What a mistake....my Pontiac went from a nice riding car, to one that you feel every little crack, or bump in the road. Those urethane bushings absorb little to no road shock, just send it all through the car. The old school, rubber bushings, might not last as long, or be as good in a racing environment, but they sure absorb more shock, and vibration. Just my experience.

I take mine in with me. To leave it on the seat or hung on the handlebar, would be the same as leaving a 100 dollar bill there for the taking. I know it's a bit clumsy to carry around, but better than loosing it to some scumbag. Would never wear it in the store....don't think that's what you were asking about.
Don't know why anyone would say anything to you about it....every woman in there is carring a purse.....so why shouldn't you be able to carry your helmet?

Well, I just like numbers....like oil temp, engine rpm's, volt meters, etc. etc, so why not mileage. I also keep long term mileage and maintainence records. A drop in mpg is a good indication that something is amiss, or in need of attention (air filter, spark plug, belt or clutch slippage, and so on)
Alley, this spring you advised me as to what a 1 gram slider weight change would do to rpm's. Based on your info, I went up 2 grams...dropped my rpm's by 500 to 600....Last year, (Apr. - Nov.) my scoot averaged 76.62 mpg....This year, (Apr. - present) my scoot has averaged 84.10 mpg...That is a 9.76% increase, with a simple slider weight change. If I didn't keep records, how would I know if a mod is an improvement or a detriment.
Wish more people kept good records...I 'd like to see some real numbers on mods such as Performance CDI's and Coils...got a feeling those things are a lot of smoke and mirrors....Bob

Most rulers, and even measuring tapes, are marked with inches on one side and mm's on the other. Wouldn't have been too much work to just measure it, back on Sept 6th.

There is a product called "Speed Bleeder" that replaces your regular bleeders. They work great...no helper needed. Makes changing your fluid on a regular basis a snap. My scoot brake caliper's take the m8x1.25 size..... run them on the brakes and clutch of my bigger bikes too.

I know the feelin'.....three and a half years ago I ordered a new Camaro....took about a month to be built and delivered. 156 miles later, the car was up on jack stands, and I was tearing out the shift lever, so I could install a billet aluminum short throw unit.... So screw the warranty... if there's ever a problem with the tranny, guess it'll be my responsability.

Was the front wheel installed correctly..is there a spacer missing between wheel and fork...or one on wrong side? Is the wheel centered between forks?

Riding alone is what two wheelers are all about, whether it's a scooter or motorcycle....if you want to be with a bunch of other people, go to a soccer, or football game. If you just want to drive surrounded by others, take a ride in your car during rush hour.
Two wheelers are about 'you and your machine'...not 'you and 10 others' with their machines.
Now go find a country road, and enjoy the peace..

Took the air-conditioners out of the windows yesterday and turned on the space heater this morning.
Same here....42* yesterday morning.....38* as I type this today.....Won't be long before there's "frost on the pumpkin", and if you are a geezer (like i am), you know what that means.

I would bet, it will surprise you.
My little $12 tach has an hour meter feature, that I used for the first time, to monitor the run time on an oil change performed last week....so I had logged 598.0 miles..and clocked 24.8 hours of run tme....that equals 24.11 mph. Seems awfully slow considering I do 90+% rural riding. Must be warm ups, and cool downs, add quite a bit of time to engine hours.
So have you ever figured your average speed?
