Took my scoot out to cast my ballot today. It is only 3 miles to our polling place......but somehow I managed to add 35 miles to the odometer. On a nice 55 degree morning, ya just gotta take the long way home.

When I stepped out for a morning ride yesterday, the yard was covered in frost...32*f, the air was absolutely calm, and for the first time in a week, there was a visible sun. Cranked up the Ural, and did a 33 mile coffee run.....enjoyed every mile of it...as well as the two cups of "old timer's" coffee for 85 cents, at Mickey D's.
Will make a very similar trip this AM, only today it's scoots' turn for some exercise.

Even though I replaced my airbox with a K&N cone, at 366 miles, and up jetted to a 115 main at the same time..... my 150cc scoot came stock with a 105 main jet, and ran fine. Your 125cc model, with a stock airbox and exhaust, running a 110 or 115, in my opinion is over jetted. Now if you had a free flowing exhaust, or a K&N type of air filter, a jet in that range would probably work fine. Have you pulled the spark plug yet? A quick look at it will tell you if I am right...or wrong.

You can fiddle all you want with the idle mixture screw, and it isn't going to effect your main jet, or make your scooter run right at the speed where your problem starts. You put in a larger main, and the problem got worse. That's gotta tell you, that you went the wrong way when changing it. Should have gone smaller. Bet your plug is black as coal.

+ 1 on what cyborg said. Check out the "Library Section" of this forum, for all kinds of 'how to's' and other info.......there is a wealth of knowledge there....and it is all yours for the taking.

twizzyokc said..."what parts should i replace?"
None...until you do as cyborg said and pull all body panels off....then do a comprehensive PDI. These scooters can be very dependable....but you must be diligent.

Thudding, or heavy vibration on take off....sounds like clutch chatter to me. Clean the drum, and deglaze the pads with sand paper.

So maybe your truck is off too. Why not use your gps while on the scooter?
Most, if not all speedo's/odometers on these things are off. I recently installed new tires on my scoot, going from the factory 120/70-12 size, to 110/90-12's. These tires are are 30mm, or in American, 1.18" taller than the factory size. My odometer is almost dead on now. A recent check against my GPS app showed this: Odometer - 103.0 miles / GPS - 102.75. But, my speedo reads 5 mph faster than actual speed, most of the time.
My Ural is just the opposite.....if odometer reads 100.0 Km, actual distance covered is 107.5 Km.......and yet the speedo is right on the money.
Go figure. The only way around it is to get a programmable unit, that way you can adjust it for any tire circumference.

Maps?

Why is it, you don't like your Garmin? I've never used that brand before.....but I do have an entry level (think I paid $59) Tomtom....no updates included, but it is a great little device. I see now they are available for less than $100 with lifetime updates. Sure would have made life easier back in my trucking days.....at that time, I had to go to Walmart for a new atlas every year.....and still missed a whole lot of turns/driveways/side streets, trying to find some warehouse in the dark.
These little navigation devices have it all over maps or written directions.

An alternative method can be found in reply #3 of this thread... valve adjustmentI just have to add this......the last time my chinese scooter valves needed an adjustment was at 2,500 miles......that was more than 8,200 miles ago. I check them annually, but have not adjusted since 7/17/13. They do make a happy tickity-tick as I ride......as they are supposed to.....if you can't hear them, they are too tight.

Most 150's come with a main jet in the 105 neighborhood, and tend to run a bit lean with a stock setup. Get yourself an assortment pack of 5 or so jets starting there, and increasing to 125, in increments of 5. Then it's just a matter of trial and error......every bike is different.....what works great on one......might be crappy on another. My guess would be something like 110 or 115, but that's just a guess, and why I suggest buying an assortment.....then you'll be all set if further upgrades are in your future. CVK main jet assortment

Sure sounds like it is plumbed wrong to me. Check a carburetor diagram to see what lines attach where.

I have just started using Valvoline 20W50 motorcycle oil from Wally world in my JCL MP250A. $4/quart. Not synthetic. They also sell a synthetic Valvoline 20W50 motorcycle oil for $8.5/quart. Or.....if you get to a NAPA Store by Aug 31st, you can buy NAPA 15w/50 Synthetic (which is Valvoline), for $2.99 a quart.
