Yep recharge the battery or replace it. The headlight could just need the bulb changing. Hard to know what the buzzing is without hearing it, might be something simple like a relay flicking on and off quickly.

Here`s a manual for the engine which should give you some idea of where things are scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=manualsgenericsandstandards&action=display&thread=5329The valves are on the cylinder head inside an alloy cover, if you have a look at the manual it will explain things with more detail. There is a dipstick/filler for the engine oil on the right hand of the engine just behind the fan guard. The drain plug is on the bottom of the engine, there might be two. One is a simple drain plug, the other has a mesh filter inside to filter the oil and catch any crap floating around. The 4T oil is normally labelled as Scooter 10/40w, although I`ve used normal car 10/40 with no problems. Transmission/gear oil normally comes in 125ml tubes which is enough for the 50cc models. It might take some searching on the rear of the casing to find the drain and fill bolts. You shouldn`t need to replace the battery as the quality is normally ok. Easiest way to get a replacement is take it to an auto battery shop and let them match it up. There will be numbers on it and of course the positioning of the terminals and external dimensions matter so it will fit inside your battery box.

You shouldn`t need to replace anything really, the quality of scoots has come quite a way in the last couple of years. Only thing I would recommend is to go around all the nuts and bolts/screws etc. that you can see, and make sure they are snug, and check that the panels are secure. Check the oil levels in the engine and transmission, fire it up and check lights etc. Take it for a spin to check there`s no wobbles/funny noises. The new battery we normally fill with acid mix and trickle charge for 6 hours, this allows the new plates to accumulate gradually which gives the battery a longer life. For the bikes in work, we do the PDI then allow them to get to 300km, then change the oils to scooter 4T and the plug to an NGK. At the 300km mark you might also want to check and adjust the valves but there is a tutorial on this forum to guide you. Hope that helps

Not off the top of my head. You could browse ebay for something suitable with side mounting holes, then make up a simple bracket from 1/4" steel flat bar.

It would probably be easier if you just replied to your original two posts rather than start new ones. That way people can keep track of progress on your problems. I`m presuming first that you have checked the battery is receiving voltage from the charging system when the scoot is running ? Also you mention about the ignition wiring possibly being wrong, this was something which we were trying to sort out in your other thread scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=250cc&action=display&thread=6770Sorting out one problem at a time would be good. As for your battery it is possible for two companies to have differing opinions on its state. Some batteries will read good even when they have a dodgy cell. The clocks on our works bikes are on all the time (or they wouldn`t keep time), they only draw a very small amount of current so shouldn`t really drag down a battery unless it`s left for a considerable period of time. As for the constant 12:00, have you tried re-setting it to the correct time. If you can`t do that then there may well be something wrong with the clock itself. In which case you can pull the red wire which goes to it and leave it dormant. First of all please confirm that your battery is receiving a charge when the scoot is running or we will end up going round in circles.

I`ve never purchased motorcycle or scooter specific oil, always used auto 10/40 bought in gallon cans which is a lot cheaper than 4t oil. This was based solely on cost but I`ve never had an engine fail. Even the 2 stroke oil I`ve used has been from an agricultural merchants, about half the cost of scoot 2t, again never had a problem with it.

Bit confusing, you say you`ve removed all the plastics, but need lights for the front fairing. So are you keeping the front fairing ? If so why not use the original lights that were in it ? Or are you saying that you`ve dumped ALL the plastics and just need front lights to mount on a bracket on the frame headstock ?

That was superb viewing, even though I wouldn`t be able to afford any of the stuff, I`d love to be able to wander around those sheds.

There are baffles inside, the welds break and the baffles rattle around, so it could be the muffler. Sometimes you can gently prod something long down inside the muffler while it`s running, to try and see if that makes a difference to the rattle. Also if it`s coming from underneath, check the centre stand, some have a nasty habit of causing a rattle.
