Well, Dr. JR, it sounds like he has my engine but he has your electrics? A YY/B hybrid? I think hes confused and has the Lihani motor not the CN250! My 244cc CN 250 has the fuse box with 4 10 amp fuses and the 15a inline by the battery I have no other 20amp fuses hes shown but have seen them on the Lihani clone but never on a Honda clone? easiest way to tell Pop is to look at the CVT cover if u got 2 bolts it the Honda clone 244cc if theres like 8 bolts I think then u got the lihani heres what the CVT cover of the Honda 244cc clone engine looks like

Quick question here. On my Jr Battery Tender I have the option of using the Alligator clips or the round connectors. The instructions say to put the positive clip on the red terminal and the negative to a body bolt. I've been doing it that way for a year now. I was thinking if I could hook up the positive and negative connectors directly to the battery and run the connector wire out the side of the scooter all I would need to do is plug the tender in and connect the male and female connector. Is this possible? I go back many years and when we charged a battery it was positive to positive and negative to negative on the battery as we never grounded the negative wire to a body bolt. Same thing with using jumper cables. What changed? I agree I have my tender hooked positive to positive and negative to negative straight to battery, and the plug stuck under seat so I can plug in without opening the seat. But I have also have hooked the negative side to chargers and jumper cables up to a bolt or part of frame anything to ground it out before on other things liking jumping car, lawn mower, etc... but I would hook the negative straight to battery on the tender IMO?

its about a 45min drive in car so I think I will go for it! Got dad following plus I have rode her alot around closer to home. This is just a farther away from home ride so it will be new for me. My farthest trip so far is about 30miles away and did that there and back so thats more then my one way 50 mile journey. I will try to post pics of interesting things I see I got the GPS, so cant get lost if all seems good might send dad on ahead, unless he wants to follow me he can be my camera guy and I might just hit up some interesting looking back roads instead, for scooter tag have to see what the tag is right now aint been playing in awhile!

Also scoot is good and broke in with 2k on her, and just had new plug, oil change with some Castrol 4T Motorcycle oil for 4 stroke motors, and a fresh gear oil change she was running good. but then I noticed it started stalling out. I thought it was the stator wire had a bad spot somewhere , cause when I moved them it would stall out scoot. but I guess it was a different wire that when I wiggled them wires it moved it stalling out the scoot. think its the wire to battery with the inline fuse but not sure will find out exactly which one. but he went thru all the ones back by the motor. not sure on the connections in the front, I had already went thru some of those to make sure there was no bare spots and all connections was tight so the scoot should be more trustworthy that all the wiring or atleast 90% has been went thru and checked out. If I wanted too im sure i could get them to bring it to me but who knows when and only going to have tomorrow and Saturday that I know of back in the 70s. So I was thinking riding it home might be a nice ride!

Whats everyones longest (no stop) ride on there 250cc Scooter? At a constant speed of 55mph, will go thru some small towns thats 35mph but about a 50mile stretch that I might travel. Is that too long of a trip holding speed of 55mph note there might be half dozen small towns and one big one where I could stop to take a brake if needed? The thing is I have had my scoot in the shop getting some wiring worked on getting it done pretty cheap, glad I bought my scoot from a good dealer (http://www.familyfunatvs.com/) a brick and mortar dealer, that has moved onto the web too (what business don't now days) but It should be done tomorrow they just have to test drive it themselves before they have me come up to make sure its fixed right! I have no truck or trailor available to get it and I really want to ride with this nice weather we are having! So I thought ride it home be a nice day. Im just worried about so long of time holding her at 55mph might not be good? But maybe be ok with the speed changes thru the small towns and then stop and take a break at McDonalds or something in the big town and it will be ok? I will have my Parents , or one of them falling me in the car, and If something happened Im sure the dealer would come get the scoot for me. Im just worrying to much! LOL But still how long of trips have u guys took on ur 250cc scoots, and how long u ride it at like 55mph or do u like to vary the speed more on longer trips? any of ur guys and gals experiences will be nice to hear. Everyone be safe and have fun scooting! Live to Ride, Chose to Scoot!

How many 150cc owners out there just use gear oil in there 150cc ? I went by manual but a lot of other things in the manual aint been right! its probably a oz or two low so just needs topped off or I have enough gear oil or 10w 30 to change it all out? Well out to start working in it I hope the CDI or the Coil give her spark back then I got some plastics to put together and ill check back to see what others use in there 150's thanks in advance!

I have a Wildfire 150-s I just got the new CDI and a new Coil to hopefully get spark back and get the 150cc running again. but was wandering the manual that came with the scoot told me to use the expensive 5w50 and hard to find oil for motor and gear oil. The gear oil has a slow leak Im worried its been awhile since last change and been sitting so has leaked a little. But what oil have u guys used in the CVT on ur 150cc's I got some 10w30, 20w50 and some actual gear oil 80w90. I was hoping I could top it off with one of these oils to make sure its full. was just changed at beginning of spring but I know some has leaked out once I get it running I am going to sell it so not really want to buy a 8$ qt. of oil just to use a little bit of it cause the motor oil should still be nice and clean like I said just been sitting might have 200miles since I did last oil change just got a leak in the CVT oil!

I have also seen that Amsoil sells an actual scooter oil for 4 stroke and a kind for 2 stroke oils too, but like the guy at Auto Zone said its a 4 stroke even though its still a scooter the oil is designed for 4 strokes and for the high revving engine of motorcycles so it might be over kill! but since it cost the same cant hurt to use what could be a better oil since its designed for 4 stroke, instead of regular car motor oil and I fell its better! if its designed to help protect high revs of a motorcycle I know even my riding shouldnt hurt my scoot as much LOL

It wasnt any more expensive for the Castrol 4T let me see if I still have receipt yep 3.99 for a qt. same price as the car oil Castrol GTX was, the synthectic might be more my Wildfire 150cc called for a expensive 5w50 synthetic oil like 8.99 a qt. but call a coincidence or what been like 200 miles and ive noticed a difference, also added some Lucas Gear oil might be the combination or all of a sudden my scoots running alot better, but Im getting more like 80mpg now and was only getting 70mpg so I have saw a better gas mileage too!
