Sorry I have not yet posted pictures. At this point I'm still collecting parts for the swap. Most of my shop time has ben spent working on the 50cc custom I'm building for a friend will be putting up more picks as I get into the actual swap. This is the actual engine. Its a brand new CFMOTO I bought off Ebay for $420 delivered. Attachments:

Today I moved the engine forward about 4" by eliminating the motor mount. It brought the cylinder more into the step through aria and the back tire dosnt stick so far past the frame. I think it tightened up the look of the scooter. Attachments:

Next time take one home. I just started welding a couple of years ago. I still have much to learn but I'm getting better all the time. The best advice I can give is to buy the best auto tinting welding helmet you can afford. It really speeds up the learning process being able to see what you are doing. I got a book at Home Depot that was a big help getting started too.

Got the tube made. Still need to weld it on and paint it. Tank is just temporally sitting on it to see how it looks. Attachments:

Putting the engine together today with the new parts. Bore is going from 39mm (49cc) to 52mm (88cc). Earthman, I'm not doing a hard tail. I just like the look of the solo seat with springs and maybe it will be a little softer ride. Attachments:

It would sure have ben easier! There are several reasons I chose to do it this way.
1) My tank is in beautiful shape. Just got it last summer.
2) I have already done many upgrades including a very nice stereo.
3) if I bought a 250cc with a CN style motor I would still have to rebuild the cooling system anyway.
4) I'm going to keep the 150cc markings on it just to mess with people.
5) Just for the heck of it! I enjoy having a good project for the winter.

Its to bad those ebay tires won't fit. With 2 red tires on a red scoot I would have ben so fast I wouldn't have even needed to upgrade to a 250!

new wheel came today. Did a test fit and no luck. Turns out the engine I have was not for a scooter. The drive shaft is only has the splines doing down about 2". Must have ben for a ATV or something like that. Found the correct one. Hopefully will be hear in a few days.
Next problem. I'm going to need a top quality tire. The back rim is only 10" so I don't want to cut any corners. Suggestions on bran and size would be appreciated.

Yep. Got a radiator and fan for 45. 00. I am going to use hard copper and short pieces of hose to hook it up. Will post picks as parts come in. I also had to order a new rear wheel and swing arm..

Thank you for the new picks! Makes good sense to me. More surface aria = more cooling..

The seat I'm going to use. I still have to order the springs as soon as I get the back mount welded in and figure out what size I need. Attachments:

First of all a thanks to Rich for the ida and the advice. This scooter was given to a friend of mine and he wanted me to build him a custom. I'm kind of going for a cushman eagle look. The engine is getting an 88cc big bore kit, performance cam, 150cc carb, big valve head, 1500rpm torque spring, and 9.5 gram sliders. I'm going to weld in a tube from the steering collum to the seat mount and mount a fuel tank on it. The seat is an old style harley solo seat. I will post picks as I go along. Attachments:

I am starting my engine swap project and I know that I'm going to need a different back rim as the splines are much bigger on the 250. I'm wondering what the correct size rim is on a CFMOTO style 250cc. Any help in locating one would also be very appreciated.
