I worked on a smoker last winter. On that model the oil pump was driven off the rear wheel. Seams like a bad Ida to me as when your not moving the pump is not supplying any oil. IMHO premixing is the way to go.

The Excide battery store will rebuild and upgrade most battery backs for around $40.00. Not worth it for a cheap cordless but if you have a good Dewalt or Bosch its something to consider.

I did a four hour 180 mile run on my tank 150 touring this summer. A relatively short trip compared to yours. The biggest thing I learned....my stock seat SUCKS! After the first 2 hours I my but was already sour and by the time I got home I could barely walk.

I think the ground suggestion is probably correct but I did replace the CDI on my 50cc with a so called performance one and every time I turned on the lights the scooter would die. Put the old one back in and no problems.

Your bendix could be gummy too. I like to clean them with brake cleaner and compressed air and then lightly oil with a light weight oil. And don't forget to put a dab of grease in the bushings that the bendix turns in.

I love the garbage bag Ida! That's winter gear I can afford.

Enjoying what could be the last good day scooten in South Dakota. 66 now and is predicted to top out at 68. That's kind of unusual for November. The local Harley club takes pride in the fact that they usually manage to get out at least once a month all winter long.

I like the looks of the thing but anything that fast should have a windshield. Maybe I'm just getting old.

I drove a truck for the last 15 years the last 13 hauling mail. Got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes after ending up in the hospital last month with a blood sugar level of over 630. I'm now on insulin so can't drive anymore. I'm thinking of going back to school like a 2 year technology school. Considering a Machinist program but am open to suggestions. It has to be something that there are openings for and the pay is decent.

I had a 1982 Honda CX500 turbo. Hands down the best bike I ever owned. EFI and shaft drive made for low maintenance. Valves were easy to adjust. 18 pounds of boost on the turbo made for plenty of power. The comfortable seat and upright riding position made long rides a joy. It also got 60+ MPG. I can't find a comparable bike 28 years latter.

A local car dealer bought this at an auction. I was told its a 1972 but it looks like brand new. After I fixed all the fuel problems I got to take if for a test ride. Its very quick with 125cc 2 stroke. Was kind of odd shiftier gears on a scooter but all in all a fun ride. Attachments:
