Ok so I am a little confused but maybe its good news. While jiggling the charging clamps I noticed it would sometimes and suddenly jump to 12-13 v on the dashboard voltmeter then It would crank right up. I thought maybe a simple bad connection, the battery was kinda corroded. I removed/cleaned/tightened the batt posts. It seems fine now, it cranks and when I use my tester it shows 12-13 when off and it stays at 13 ish when running. It goes up a volt or so when I rev it. I did charge it overnight so maybe it just looks good because the battery is charged in that case I guess it will run down again. I got my fingers crossed.

hmm so I I think it will be easier to check my regulator first. Is there something specific to look for while I'm testing? I mean if volt = less then something then bingo.Or will I need to check them both regardless?

Hi guys, I had a dead battery this after noon and at first I assumed I had just left the keys to the on spot which killed it. But after connecting my trickle charger it practically stated instantly. Now is where it throws me. I ran it for about 15 miles and and the battery was dead again, the gauges moved but as soon as I turned the crank they dropped. Finally after an hour of the trickle charger not working I used a car battery to get it going. I drove another 20 miles and then home to safety. I used a volt tester and here is what I got. Bike off= volts 12 -13 volts direct to battery Bike running = 7 - 8 volts. also in idle the display volt meter drops when I press brakes. The headlights burn bright as always when its running and I thought they ran off the generator. And why would the volts drop when its running.

I do like the south:) also, tethering tech is awesome, we did the same on a recent road trip its nice to have internet while driving..how did we ever survive when we younger? That was great, I loved the Google file link, I used Google earth to zoom in and follow your complete trip there were some really great hills and valley's up and down. I used to GPS my MTB rides through the Mtns. here in Asheville, blue ridge parkway, although your route is much longer and more fun,

thanks for the info, I am going to do some serious searching of the area and looking at nearby areas to find the best possible place. Also, I did some basic searching and having found a whole of scooter sales/shops in the area I wounder if they aren't as popular in South Texas I hope I am wrong.

Where abouts in South Texas you moving to? I am in South Texas on the Coast in Corpus Christi. Looks like about 2 hours from you. Truth is I don't really know much about Texas other then what Google tells me hot/bugs/hot/and poisonous snakes:) what can you tell me about it, is there any real danger from living near the Mexico boarder, would I be able to go to and from Mexico easily? Are outsiders welcome there Harlingen/Brownsville area. What should I be aware of, what are the good things about it.

thanks , that's helpful info, I was kinda unsure about the jobs there. The worst case scenario is that I cant find a job after a month or two, then I can just go somewhere else. Harlingen or Brownsville is the spot I am aiming for.

So there comes a time in a mans life when he has to drop everything he knows and start over. I have reached that time. I currently live here in beautiful Asheville NC. I am taking my scooter and somehow fitting it inside my KIA spectra5 and leaving everything behind for beautiful sunny, south Texas. By the way I know absolutely nothing about Texas and I am going to do it sight unseen so if anyone here lives there or knows anything about it that they wanna share information with me I would be glad to hear about it. My main reason for the location is because I wanna ride my scooter on the coast....wouldn't that be awesome?

Yikkes! I am glad you didn't have any permanent damage to yourself.
Stupid Oil spots... On the bright side, your bike now has just a little bit more character then it did before:)

ITS! FIXED!!![glow=red,2,300][/glow]
That's funny, no one has responded yet which in a way is good because, I think I fixed it here's what I did.
Since I couldn't reach the rear break lever and loosen the valve by myself..(my arms are too short) (and the guy that helped me yesterday was not available) I used my little noodle(head) and took the whole darn thing off and ran the brake and tubing underneath to the other side where I could easily reach them both at the same time. I made sure the entire break line was evenly smooth and went uphill without any of the bends and dips that were there to begin with. This way the air wouldn't get stuck at the top of one the many dips. Then I rotated from bleeding from the top then bleeding from the bottom. WOW there was a lot of air in the hose. I really screwed the pooch on that one.(next time I will be more careful.) eventually (almost a whole bottle of fluid) It got some pressure and it works now.
the only thing left is the pads still make a clicking noise when i use them medium or hard.
and the dam fluid ate through my plastic and now is crumbling apart along with some nasty bleach marks ..arrrgg!

one other thing this may or may not be relevant, during the bleeding when ever I pumped it would shoot fluid up and out of the reservoir . I had to keep the lid on or squeeze real slowly

Crap! I might be in a bad situation. I was changing the brake fluid with a friend of mine when I accidentally let a little air get into the reservoir. we continued to bleed it figuring we would just force the air out the bottom. But now I cant get any pressure to build up.We went through at least 7 fill ups trying to run the air out of the line.
My friend says it seems like the master cylinder went bad. At first It seemed weird that it would happen the same time I let air into it but I am really not sure whats going on.
here's some more facts.. 1:while pumping there was a few times nothing came out and other time the fluid came out fine.
2:also a few days ago, after I changed the pads I noticed the same brake pressure left then came back 2 times that day but has been fine since.
Does this sound like air or something more serious?

yea I meant it was umm "chini-chrome" with several "ameri-rust" spots coming through.. I think i will just rough it up with same sandpaper and black it . that will just leave the heat guard looking chome-ish.

Oh , Ohh I know this one, ok so you use the formula (mass energy and IDIOT) so that's represented as (M4 + E2)9 / 3rd root of I3 = (time to retake drivers Ed.)5
LOL that's a good pic I can imagine if I was in a car on top of the bridge when a big yellow arm come smashing up from the bottom.
