The spark plug fires nicely, but quickly gets SOAKED in premix. The kickstarter is EXTREMELY easy to push (no effort needed), but he says it's always been like that. When cranked with the spark plug out and my thumb on the hole, it just barely pushes and pulls on my finger. Also these bikes have about 71 PSI for an optimum compression. Were in the world did you get the 71 for optimum compression? Most scoots will NOT run if they are under 100PSI and if they do they hardly have any power to move the weight of the scoot. Kick starter EXTREMELY easy to push no effort needed is a compression problem. Every pull on a pull start on a lawnmover or snowblower. Alleyoop I ran the VIN number to get the exact model and year for the Yamaha Razz. That is just what turned up. It seemed kind of odd..so we're dealing with low compression then? How odd for it to fail so conveniently when we cleaned the carb to make us THINK it was the carb. This thing has over 4000 miles on it. Probably needs a rebuild. This forum also says it.

I do not think it has an adjustment on the needle like the GY6 carb's do? I could be wrong, but I didn't see one. Then again, I didn't even know about the needle adjustment on the GY6 carb until today. And mine doesn't even have an adjustment, it's just set, unfortunately.

We do not have a compression tester, unfortunately. That is one thing we were unable to do. But it ran before we cleaned the carb for the first time.

Okay, so my friend has a 2000 Yamaha Razz Riva 50cc scooter. It's been in a few accidents, but it still ran before all this. Last year it was running, but it had a few issues with running. So we took the carb off, took it apart, cleaned it, and put it back together just as we took it apart. After that, it never ran again..We've tried and tried, but it's just not working. The carb bowl IS filling up with fuel (we've taken it apart tons of times), there IS vacuum. When we kick it (we don't have a battery), the oil light comes on (would that stop it from running?). If we spray starting fluid into the spark plug hole, it will eventually (after at least 15-20 kicks) make a sputter or two, but that's it. Irregardless of whether the airbox is on, it just won't run..What could be the issue here? It's a 2 Stroke, by the way.

I do believe it has a headlight switch, yes. If by headlight switch you mean the switch that has three places it can be in (Headlight and running lights on, running lights, and off), then it does have a headlight. The running lights appear to run off DC (they uses to turn on with the key), but the headlights are AC. It still starts with the electric start.

It's running a 139QMB. By the way I went and turned my idle screw all the way out in attempt to kill it today (just because it was idling too high, and I wanted to see what it would do), and I couldn't kill it with the idle screw...so it's getting extra fuel SOMEWHERE. Now the question becomes WHERE...Hmm..

We never pulled the front end. Only the seat plastics, and back, such as the brake light wiring. Nothing in the handlebar cluster or front of the bike has been changed. I'll look for a wiring diagram.

Scotty (His name is actually Scott, by the way) is not dealing with his own wiring issues His bike is a "Sunny" scooter. I'm not sure of the model, however, it is a 2012.

So I have no idea what is happening to my dad's bike. He put it back together but we think that at some point he mixed up some wires...or something. So now the running lights do not come on, the headlights are ALWAYS on, the headlight/running light switch does nothing (but the bright/dim headlight switch works), and the brake light does not light up bright when you press the brakes, but before we took it apart, ALL of this functioned. Where should I check first?

Don't you just hate when you procrastinate? I do! Because of procrastination, I haven't finished a website that I'm doing for a customer, and $150 is a big deal for an 18 year old! My deadline is this week..oh boy. Nobody else knows I've procrastinated this project except you guys. So I hope none of you are the person I've doing this website for LOL Edit: Somebody move this to the non-scooter forum, please

Oil for the crankcase use 10W40 oil unless you live in a very hot area then 20w50. You fill it until it registers HALF way up the XXXXs on the dip stick without screwing it in, then when you screw it back in it will cover all the xxxxs on dip stick. Alleyoop *Does a double take* Uh oh....I've been putting it all the way up to the XXXs without screwing it in and THEN screwing it in. Am I going to blow up? o.O

I don't see why it SHOULD be the majority of stopping power. It's still stopping power, right?

Yes yes. Back to the topic at hand. I may as well order that switch when I get my paycheck and I'll let you know if I can fabricate something..until then, let this topic fall down the board
