I've just noticed this today. How is it that the starter motor on the Honda Ruckus is almost inaubible? It's SUPER quiet and all you can here is the motor turning. Do they have it super soundproofed or something?

Yikes, that's unfortunate. The muffler must not be supported and it's causing the self to break..either way, I'm not entirely sure what exact muffler should go on that particular bike. It could help if we had a picture of the entire muffler (bend in the pipe, size of the actual muffler, mounting bolts, etc).

I had a little pick like thing to get it out like shown in the picture. My neighbor(a retired mechanic)gave it to me to use, The seal is rubber with a spring on the inside to keep the seal against the shaft. Guess my next step is to try a better one and see how it holds. Is the oil level okay the top of the xx's with the dipstick just set in place ? You think it's more the seal not setting right. I've always been fine with the oil at the top of the X's. Never had any issues whatsoever, but most people do fill it up until about halfway up. I guess I would rather be safe than sorry. Just don't OVERFILL it, because it could cause oil to blow out your valve cover tube!

Depending how it's tied down you sometimes can duct tape the new and old one together end to end and pull the new one in with the old,,, this will end alot of grief sometimes I wish that were the case. I wish I would have thought of that BEFORE I pulled the housing and cable out of my bike. Looks like it's a manual routing for me!

I believe I have a large frame as well, which explains the fairly long cable. My guess is that the cable be fine once it comes. But I'm going to have to remove all my panels to route it back through! Yuck!

I think the hardest part is finding an exact cable. I ordered one cable, so I'm hoping it's the right length. I couldn't accurate measure because the cable was seperate a from the housing and such. So I might have to order a shorter or longer one! Oddly enough my cable housing was 70" long, which seems long for a 50cc

I swear Alley, that was not the case. I barely had it at 1/2 throttle when it snapped. I can't even begin to understand what happened to it. I have a feeling the cable wasn't lubricated enough and was rubbing on the housing or something, eventually fraying it. But no matter how it happened, I'll need to get it replaced.

I was 20 miles from home tonight when I gave it throttle and heard a quick SNAP noise. My handlebar grip went soft, and I had no throttle control, it just went straight to idle. Ended up pulling off the side of the road and had my brother come rescue me in our minivan. Got my scooter home to find out my throttle cable was clean snapped in two. DAMN!

That our scooters are basically forward thrust and electricity generators that are very efficient on gas? I find it very cool that as long as my scooter has a good battery, I'll never be stranded. And even if my battery went out I could still charge my phone and other electronics in an emergency with just the engine rolling at idle. I think everybody should install a cigarette lighter/charger in their scooter. Personally mine is literally two wires running under my seat and into my battery compartment where it is seated directly on the battery.

Droll RV...droll. Hell I don't know Plant quit grilling me! She bought the thing and said it's a rainbow shark! I thought maybe it was gay or something. When it pops out of the water it says "I'm FAAAABulous!!" Does that mean anything? No no no, that test will never do. You have to put another male rainbow shark in there and see how they react. Prepare to cover your eyes, however.

Rainbow + Shark = ? I didn't even know rainbows and sharks could be in the same sentence until now! Very good, though. I like fish, myself.

Holy smokes! That's a whole lot of members! Just wait until 10,000 members! Sure, most of them are either lurkers or are using the library, but so be it! None of this would be possible without the staff here

Yikes! I'm glad you weren't riding, too! Most people never think about what could have happened because they never ride on two wheels! Was the other driver texting?

Luke won't need any hose on that hole because his morph is so far advanced over all other scooters. His morphous is at least 5000 years ahead of Chinese "junk", right? I love riding around on a piece of "garbage".
