I see a lot of people complaining about how their oil spews out of their valve cover breather tube, and to be honest, I've never had an issue with any oil escaping whatsoever. I know that my breather tube doesn't attach to anything (open air), and I know I never lose oil. Why is it that so many people lose oil? Some people report that they lose very small amounts but other people say that their engine SPEWS oil out the breather tube, while I've never had even a drop come out of mine.
The question becomes...why?

The reason I up jetted was because I was running lean and I couldn't fix it. I guess the main jet I threw in was too big. I'm guessing that I just didn't know how to properly adjust the screw back then and that's why I just stuck to it (it's been like this for awhile). And yes, it will stall now.

I went ahead and threw the stock main jet and pilot jets in. Adjusted the AF screw, and now I'm running great! When I started it up after swapping the jets I was VERY lean. So after a quick adjustment here and there, I'm doing great. No more stumble when I give it throttle, and it accelerates just as fast as it did before.

Change your air instead. Might as well use the bigger jet for better performance and just upgrade the air flow to match. Unfortunately I would much prefer how quiet my bike is now. When you upgrade the air you also increase the noise (the noise of the carb sucking in air is quite annoying in my honest opinion). I already get sufficient performance (I regularly max out my 70KPH speedometer), so I don't mind going down a jet.

Okay, so I got my replacement part today. I replaced it and the problem is STILL not fixed. It is running a LOT less rich than it was, but still running slightly rich (I can give it some quick throttle to make it almost want to die, even though the screw is turned in ALL THE WAY). At this point, I'm thinking that maybe my main jet is too large, as I DID upgrade my main jet by 2 without getting an air upgrade...looks like it's time to put a stock jet in!

I'll admit that my first spill was my fault. I simply wasn't looking for potholes and there just happen to be one. Obviously I'm more on the lookout now. The second spill on the other hand was not my fault. I was going very slow and being careful because the road might as well have been a giant pothole. But it just so happens that one particular pothole was both a hole AND a rock. The rock threw my front tire ajar and the pothole didn't let me tire get out of that angle, so I went straight down. And maybe my bodywork did come from Europe. Still crappy ABS plastic though.

Well I most certainly don't plan to stop riding this bike any time soon. Cosmetic damage or not it's been a great bike to me. But hey, tumbles happen here and there, and potholes were the cause both times. Maybe I can just sue my county because they don't know how to keep the roads in proper order!!! Unless you were trying to hit said pot holes on purpose I would guess speed had more to do with it than pot holes. It is not a necessary part of riding to go for a tumble. I would guess you were going faster than your ability to ride in an upright position. Not every one feels it necessary to lay a ride down as part of the riding experience. Just trying to keep you in the herd instead of in the ICU> Considering that both of these tumbles were under 10 MPH, I'm sure it was the potholes fault.

Best just keep riding the scooter the way it is till you quit dropping it. After that happens you are ready for a brand new one. Bikes and scooters do not take wellto dropping them. ? Scratching and breaking plastic needs to stop first! ? Well I most certainly don't plan to stop riding this bike any time soon. Cosmetic damage or not it's been a great bike to me. I know after almost two years of riding, that I've fallen twice, and my bike has acquired some pretty nasty scars from it. How about your bikes? Left side fairing, scratches from left side tumble Left side mirror, hit the ground and scraped against gravel and cement. Front dash, left side, hit the ground as well Right side front of bike, hairline crack, I don't know how this happened. Left side front of bike, severe scrapes off plastic from a nasty slide My left side wheel is also missing a cover that the right side has, but that's a different story. I have the broken plastic piece but I don't have the parts. I wonder if there are places that will recreate plastic for you? Also, yes, that is a bucket you see reflecting off my plastic. I had just finished cleaning it

Thank you for your very great wisdom, LUKE. I thought the brake shoes went on the valve cover. I guess that's why my brakes didn't get any better!

I want to replace the front and back shoes on my scooter (YES, my front brake is drum based!), and I'm wondering if they are the same on the front and the back, and how do you replace the front brake shoes? I can only find the rear!

Turns out that the O-Ring on the air adjusting screw is broken, which explains why it can't kill the engine. I found the screw by itself but it was almost $20 with shipping!! So I just ordered a complete carb rebuild kit from eBay for $11.50 with shipping..includes the screw, o ring spring, etc. sometimes you just have to order in bulk..so I guess I'll have a carb rebuild kit laying around.
