My little QMB ran fine yesterday. At 1:00am today I tried to start and found a surprise. I started it up and put my gear on while it warmed up as usual but, for some reason It dies at idle. I pulled it back in to the garage and took the cage to work. I guessed it was time for a valve adjustment. Anyway I got home and did a valve job (.004 on both), Still have a problem though. Unless I give it throttle the scoot dies. Took it for a test run and every time I stop or let go of the throttle is dies. Can someone point me in the right direction? Unless I adjusted things wrong I am running low on ideas

If you have a filter that fits the carb just clamp it on and be done. No need for extra hose unless the engine mount is in the way or ya just wanna show off. Just my opinion. Take it or leave it ;D ;D

Just my opinion but, I agree with everything Sprocket said. If you added a BBK without rejetting That could be the problem. You may be running to lean. The stock jet is only like a 75 or 80. Riding 2 up on Qmb is asking a lot from the engine even at 70cc. Unless its 2 100lb teenagers. ;D You may want to lose the airbox for a freeflow filter and upjet. And like Sprocket said check for restrictions in the exhaust. A new CDI and Coil package may help too for reliability and the advanced timing curve. You should see a little more power after the BBK is fully run in though. I noticed a little more speed between 600 and 1000 km on my scoot when it was new.

No worries Sprocket!!!!! Just my .002 Not sure if he is using a spray or not Just pointing out an easy way to get coverage. In fact I think it was you that gave me that tip!!! As for engine oil I still reccomend Rotella 15W 40 diesel. (Not sure if its SYN or Dino, Wish I knew for sure. I know they make both I think) Just change the oil out every 500M or so. Remeber there is no real filter!!!! I hear good things about Moble 1 if ya do go full Syn. I may try it this Summer Oil is worse than religon. It all works but, what I use is better than yours

Exactly Sprocket!!!! That little 1/2-1oz packet of heavy, thick Real Filter oil is hard to get even coverage (even using a ziplock Bag) Adding gas will dilute the oil in a bag an make it easier to get an even distribution of oil.. Gas evaporates and you have even coverage. Or you could use a K&N or UNI spray. Much easier and less messy!!!!! You can Just Spray on, Intall and be done. Rubber gloves Help To avoid a mess though. Everyone has opinions about oil but, if the manual recomends 15W40 Try the Shell Rotella It is 15$ for like 2 Gallons. Availible in Dino or Synthetic Blends (AFAIK), and is used by many dealers!!!! Good luck Offroader!! Have fun and Keep On Scootin On !!!!!!

Wait Nevermind. Now I am confused, The ad states an Emgo filter is included but the K&N is pictured below. Oh well. Anyways $60.00 is to much for an intake hose!!!!

^^^^^ Agreed!!!!! A radiator hose will do the same job at 1/3 the cost. Plus you can cut it to the perfect length. Either have the air filter as close as possible to the carb (Better performance)or, extend it out to show off the filter. $60 is a bit high IMO. Your mostly paying for the K&N filter not the intake hose. Let's Say $40 for the filter and $20 for the hose. Even though they say the filter is "Thrown In" Notice just below in the "Much Needed Accessories" the K&N filter alone costs the same amount Maybe there Throwing In the hose for free

Not exactly, If you have a thick filter oil in a small package It is easier to apply if you mix it with gas. The gas will evaporate and make it easier to apply an even coat. I just use spray on K&N though. Try to find some "Shell Rotella" if your manual says 15W 40 Available at Wall mart or Kroger stores. Or a decent Shell gas station. It's made for diesel engines but works well for these small scoots. That's what I have used since day 1 I am Planning to switch over to full syn. this summer though.

Not sure but, I don't think so. If thats a 50cc trike a 108 jet is way to much IMO. I am no expert but most modded 50 4T scoots run around 95 or so. I run an 88 with just a UNI filter and sock was 75. Then again these trikes maybe way different than there 2 wheeled counterparts. Others will have better answers I'm sure.

We had a very warm winter then, snow in April here in Vegas. That may not mean much to some of you but, I believe our temps this summer will break high heat records. I expect Highs between 110F and 115F during July and August at least. Any cooling tips are welcomed. My little QMB thanks you for the ideas!!!!
