I have the air box off and have been using jumpers off the car to ensure enough amps.. The B/W wire.. is that black with white stripe? what will that do? what does that wire control? It sounds soooo close but just wont run.. I will try it tonight

Compression seem adequate My gauge is still in NY 800 + miles away.. Kids... It does turn over as if there is compression but I wont swear to it.. Should be enough to do more than what it is doing..

I tried moving the timing again the where the case pointer is pointing to the line between the T & F mark on the flywheel and set the cam gear accordingly as if TDC. primed the vacuum line.. same thing.. cranks over as if flooded then almost starts then back to just turning over... same old thing... might try going the other way a tooth and see what happens.. Next step is a BFH!!! lol

just tried tuning it 180 out to see what happens ... nada same thing.. feeding the vacuum line didn't help... once it sounded like a maybe for a few turns then just spun over & over...double checked for spark and it was there.. Could the kick start/compression release have any effect on it? It was all removed,

Pulled the cam & gear bolts and tensioner, rolled gear 1 tooth clockwise and reassembled. Now the "T" is just above the pointer on the case when the cam marks are even with the head casing. I did rig up another ground wire from the battery to one of the valve cover bolts. The valves are set @ .004. Header pipe does get warm after a few tries so I assume there is ample spark and plug is not fouled or flooded out. I gave it a shot of starting fluid in the carb with no change. I will go out and try the vacuum line prime.

Reset the timing so the "T" is just above the pointer and still no luck. Any other thoughts?

I have replaced the plug, stator and pulse coil, flywheel, battery, It "supposedly" had a new piston & ring installed, reset the valves to .004. timing looks to be right, fuel & vacuum lines are good. It just wont start! exhaust pipe gets warm and puffs a little smoke.. Any thoughts on what I missed?
