I have gone by this place on the 250B a couple times and yesterday my GF made me stop and take a picture of it. It's in Lathrop, MO, which is out in the country north of KC. Just thought you guys might get a chuckle too...

Well here's an update. Tuesday of this week I got a notification fro UPS that my package had shipped. I was happy about this obviously. Friday of this week I get an email from the seller that he didn't HAVE blue in stock and could he ship me a black one? And I'm like WAIT a damn minute! How can he have shipped me something and not have what I ordered? It doesn't make any sense. So I emailed him back and said to cancel the order and refund my money, which he did this morning. I left him negative feedback on ebay over it.
So, for now, I'll suffer through with the trunk lid fix. <sigh>

JR: I was looking at the partsforscooters.com link you posted and I don't think EITHER of those stators are correct for my scooter. The type 1 looks similar, but the connector is definitely wrong. I measured mine the way they are measuring the one they have there and it measures 43mm center of hole to center of hole where theirs is 46mm. They don't show the measurement of the type 2 but it looks larger, however the plugs look wrong too.
The ebay one you showed says the shaft size is 32mm and my shaft size was 41.5mm. Hell, even the wrong I bought was a 35mm.
I bet ONE of these three stators is for the cfmoto version, but I'm like you: a guy will have to pull it out and measure what he's got and make sure he's ordering the right thing!

On my scoot I usually pull the clutch out with both hands and let the belt slip down inside there until it bottoms out. The belt will hold the clutch side out while you put the variator side back together. I've never had any trouble doing it this way. My biggest problem has always been getting it OFF! LOL

JR: The stator I got WAS for the linhai engines, just not mine. If you will look at partsfochinesescooters.com you will see they specifically show a different one for Roketa. I don't know why Roketa would be a difference, cause they're all made in varying places, but that is what they have it listed as.

Dang I work that day.I love Ma & pa's.They have the best b & g this side of the Mississippi. My wife and I both have 150cc's.We would love to have made it. Hey, KCzukiman, sorry you can't make it, but maybe we can meet up some other time and have a ride? I have a 250 and I actually have a hard time keeping up with the bergman's I usually ride with. They're all 650's and them guys LOVE the 70mph roads and I'm all maxed out. LOL. I prefer leisurely rides in the country myself. Anyhow, drop me a note and let's get together sometime!

Just when you think you've got the problem figured out, 5 other problems crop up to take it's place.

I've had mine off a few times as well and could use some more screws and speed nuts. I'm probably just gonna run take a look at Ace hardware up the street before I start worrying too much. I could use about 10 or so screws. I have the emptys in strategic locations around the scooter that are unnoticeable.

Hey guys, I've been in St Louis on vacation so I've not been watching the forum. I took this picture looking up at the St Louis Arch on saturday: In any event, I've been reading up on what's been going on here and I just had one thing to add to what JR said about the 2 stators. Both of them were supposed to fit the Linhai engine. The larger one of them is listed as the Roketa magneto. It seems strange to me that there are two different types in identical engines, but there it is. As for donating my old one, I had been kicking around the idea of rewinding it myself based on that link JR posted "The Stator Papers." I was wanting to maybe have a spare for later down the road. That having been said, I'd be happy to part with it in the name of scooter repair science to someone who knows that it is that they are doing. Just keep in mind, my stator was 104mm overall with a shaft size of 41.5mm. The smaller one that I got and had to send back was 93mm overall with a shaft size of 35mm. I think that perhaps a cfmoto clone engine may possibly have a different one entirely? Before I give mine up to be rewound, I think we'd ought to find someone with an identical stator that needs replacement.

I got my annual scooter insurance bill in the mail this week and noticed that the rate had increased over 20% over last year! I was appalled. I went to State Farm and Allstate both and they were both higher still than American Family.
So, I went to American Family and asked if they could do anything about the rate and at first he says they don't set the rates yada yada yada and that he can't override them. I told him, well I noticed that I don't have state minimum, can the coverages be altered thereby changing the cost. I was astounded. At $100,000/300,000 it was $174/yr but drop down to $50,000/100,000 and it was $86/yr. State Minimum is $25,000/50,000 so I'm still above that.
So anyhow, it pays to ask questions!

I had a brain storm this morning while riding out to pick up my check and thought of a way to fix the trunk.
I drilled some holes in the broken off hinge pieces and put some little strips of thin aluminum that I had handy on them with some 6-32 screws and nuts that I also had handy and then screwed the whole mess to the trunk lid and put JB Weld behind it all.
Hopefully this will hold it well enough until the new trunk arrives.

I sent the seller a question on ebay about that trunk and got sort of an odd response:
He says:
Also, that guy has several negatives over the past month. Not sure I wanna deal with him.
What do you suppose he meant by that? I'm guessing that English is not his first language.

I measured the outside dimensions of my box at 22x14x10 and this box was 22x16x12. The hinge on mine is 100% on the outside of the box. And what broke was the part where it touches the top of the box. It was made as part of the box.

It's actually 3" deeper and 2" taller. Which is cool and all, but I was looking for the DIY $12 fix.
