He never emailed me back. Be nice to get a few more details but with no contact I don't see how to find out more.
Not sure if the one I found is the actual one. 3 years is kinda short for an electric motor.

Lead acid batteries are way cheaper, but you lose range both in heavier batteries and fewer amp hours per battery.
Found the motor, I think. $600 for that, but if you don't use a hub motor I'm sure that can be made a bit cheaper.

It comes to $1500 for the batteries alone. Not a cheap thing to do.

Took it around the block. Running better. I suspect a good overall tuneup wouldn't hurt it too much. I'll look up that repair place in the other thread and see if I can't ride it down on a day to have that done.

drive.google.com/file/d/0Byy0KRaiu0mfWDVlRmdDeG1Jamc/view?usp=sharingI looked at the carb, didn't take it apart yet for obvious reasons. It looks clean, though. Only 1300 Km on the bike. When is a carb cleaning usually due? I actually carefully gave it some gas, and then revved it for a bit to 'clear it out'. As long as it gets gas it sounds fine, but it idles poorly. I upped the idle, as I said, and the hiccups slowed somewhat but I'm idling at about 1600-1700 and it shouldn't do that, I don' think. I could probably ride it, and it might not even strand me but that hiccup still concerns me.

Where can I get a performance CDI? How is it different from a 'regular' CDI?

He gets a 45 mile range, good for city driving. A 150 sized bike is a city bike anyway, not really good for long trips. His top speed is BETTER than the gas engine, 75.
You're right about batteries. Lead Acid are the cheapest but have the shortest range and the largest weight. Lithium is really really good but you will truly pay dear for it.

I emailed the guy, but haven't gotten an answer back. I'll let everyone know what I discover.

I've been thinking of getting mine converted, but no idea how expensive it would be.

Well, short of a used bike on craigslist, a full motorcycle isn't in my price range. That's how I got a scoot in the first place. I CAN ride one, of course. Used one for the safety course, but I've come to really love and enjoy the automatic tranny of a scoot. Middle of the month next month is when I'll most likely have cash to spare. Hopefully the scoot will be running and I can get a trade in, or sell it. It's a Lancer 150, BTW. If any of you guys like 'em maybe we can work sumpin out.

Thanks, beebo. I'll see if I can't get my scoot over there, assuming the suggestions in the other thread don't pan out.

OK fine. What would make a bike run a short while and stall? Here's some scenarios:... Fuel lines are clear, I'll check for flow. The filter isn't OEM, I replaced that but again, if the fuel flows after the filter in the line it should be OK. Coil, CDI and boot are all OEM. I'll check those, too. If it's not too sharp I'll just replace all three. Being OEM it's likely a good idea anyway. I'll check the plug, but that one's not OEM either. Got one of the better ones, but don't recall the brand at the mo'. NDI I think? Thanks to Cyborg, like I said, I'll look at that. TVN, looks like something I'd hire someone else to do, but thanks anyway. This is kinda why I posted about getting a new bike in that other thread. I work a full time job, and I'm trying to start a movie making business in my off time. I need a bike, not a hobby. I just can't spend 3 or 4 hours a week just keeping it going.
