That is the scary part .. on page 11 is a brief description of valve clearance check -- they say .002 in and .0024 inexhaust -- i guess i have to call the tech to verify this is indeed for the 300 and not the clearance for the 150 .... ;(
Also trying to nail down a charging issue -- bat voltage does not increase to 13 when bike running like voltage regulator should make it.
The coil to plug boot wire is merely screwed in via wood screw to the rubber insulator of the wire .. nothing crimped or sealed ... you would never see that on a modern auto plug cable/boot cap

this bike has rear disc (the manual states drum in rear) .. and the manual is so poorly written it references the spark plug that goes on the 150cc, 10 mm instead of 12 mm size .. it is as if this bike came from people (China) who did it as quickly and cheaply as possible then tried to recycle as much info as possible from the smaller more popular scooter ( the 150cc) and then also squeezed it out in record time -- it has to be the case when the pdf has a big mistake like that in it .. AND that is prob. the reason they dont make the 300 since 2008 anymore and you can get these pretty cheap because of it (tiny dealer support()

I think the exhaust is good , though I did notice someone had 'doublenutted' the ex. manifold to make sure it doesnt shake loose. I have not even seen the air filter, because it is so hard to get at. The intake and exhast manifold connections to the carb are not great. I did notice a couple openings on the intake side and electric taped over to make a better seal .. -- all of this could be avoided with EFI .. but it seems u have to have about a $3k to $5k bike just to get fuel injection !!

I have a wildfire 300 which is backfiring (actually, that was the problem that was nagging as it would die on deceleration to a stop)-- now it's not starting at all .. .. i presume, since i didnt check the valves at 1000 miles, they need it now at 3500 ... i understand this unit is a copycat of a linhaih (yamaha company) and there is a brief descrip. in the owner pamphlet pdf but there is always more than, inbetween the steps ~ -
