It's a little better but I have not adjusted it yet. I am trying to decide if it is even worth it. Another nice day and I may try it and go for another ride.

So since the weather was nice yesterday (82), I decided to go for a ride. Since my other toy needed some transmission fluid, I thought I would go into town to the NAPA and buy some. Well two things, first my town is surrounded by big hills. You have to go down a big hill to get into own and up a big hill to get out. So I am mentally mapping out the route with the slightest grade to get me to NAPA. Not that going down the hill is the issue but climbing back up and keeping up with traffic so not to get run over or tailgated to death is an issue. Secondly, as I said before, I just got this running good with the hole in the hose and carb and plug and all that but I still have not taken this very far. This trip was about 13 miles, not far by any standards but the furthest for me. So heading into town, there are actually two big hills and I decided to bypass the first and knew the second would not be an issue. The thing rode like a champ and go lots of looks and a couple of, "HI" signs from other bikers, I get to the NAPA only to find out they closed an hour earlier...CRAP. I turn around to go home and again decide to go the back way up the first hill with a less gradual incline. Unfortunately, I had to go through the hood to get there...boy did I get some looks. The bike pulled the hill great, never sputtered and was still pulling at the top. Full of confidence, I continue on my journey and get to the second and much larger hill. This hill is about a mile downhill and then an immediate mile uphill. So I get to the point at the top of the hill where I could turn off to a less hilly route and the way I came, or take the hill. There was a Harley in front of me and I thought..."If he can do it...". So I look in my mirror and see my sleeve, so I lean out a bit and see nobody behind me and decide to go for it. Going down the hill was not bad but I had to slow down quite a bit because the Pa. roads suck and the scoot don't be liking dem bumps. I get about 50 yards from the uphill portion of the roller coaster and the roads clear up so I gun it and start to climb. I have to admit, I was impressed. She pulled the hill the whole way and although we topped at 45, still at the speed limit. Smiled the rest of the way home. I took the family out for dinner that night and I ended up buying some trans fluid at one of my stores. Put some in my other toy, tok off the roofs and took my daughter for a ride. Good time. Anyway, two things about the ride. First, for a $200 scoot, I was nervous about the dependability but it proved me wrong. Second ain't no mountain high enough.

For a small area like that, some abrasion and elbow grease.

Rich, Just a suggestion, put it back to stock. You are getting too far out of whack and too many variables are coming into play. I would go back to stack and start with one change at a time so you can tweak it before making another. IMHO

Changed fluids today. Very disgusting what came out. Everything went pretty smooth except I tried to put the oil filter in upside down. I could have sworn it came out that way. Anyway, ran nto the house an watched the video on changing oil and figured it out. Took it for a quick spin in between rain drops and did not see a noticable difference.

Sorry to hear about the spill. Hope your feeling better soon. Guess the whole,"his and hers" thing is on hold for a while?

I thnk he is talking about an extension from the new intake manifold to the carb because of the manifold angle, he is hain a problem getting the carb seated on the manifold. If that is the case, you do not want the hose braking down because of gas and the rubber being sucked into the cylinder through the manifold. Is this correct Rich?

Rich, I am not sure but I don't think it will work because fuel line is made of neoprene which is resistant to fuel and won't break down. Somebody correct me if I am wrong.

Factory Quality control or lack thereof. Dealer should give something back for the problems.

Well I fixed a few things. First, there was a hole in the bottom of the air hose that was causing the bike to run lean explaining why I was having issues with it bogging at WOT and the issues with the plug gap. Also, the rubber o-ring was torn in three inside the fuel/air mixture screw which would explain the issues with settin the carb. Fixed the hose with some silicon Goop and found an o-ring from my airbrush. I was afraid to go any distance especially the hills as the bike would slow to 35 or so. Yesterday we actually made it to a balmy 67 degrees so I went for a 10 mile or so ride. What a difference. I could cruise along at 55 and maintain almost 47-50 up hills and I am 247 lbs. Also, running along at 45 and give it full throttle, it will now pull me back in the seat instead of falling on it's face. I still need to change fluids and I am going to take the old plug and side gap it to see if it makes a big difference. I was going to do the Airflow filter, upjet thing but not right now. Just waiting for some nicer weather to enjoy the ride. One thing does concern me is that it does not idle as smooth. Seems like it goes up and down and not sure why, small price to pay for it running better. One thing I did notice is that it sure gets a lot of attention and guys on the Harley's wave and take a long look at the scoot when you go by.

I agree, sounds like the forks are loose OR too tight. Put on the center stand and have someone push the back of the bike down raising the front wheel off the ground. Grab the bars and turn the wheel, is it loose or tight. Is there any play in the bars? Can you move it side to side? This should rule out the forks or bearing then you could turn your attention elsewhere to troubleshoot. Great Dad.

Well I am thinking aboout changing my fluids...well the scoots anyway, and I have been reading and finding many different variations. So what is a good CVT fluid and oil to use?

I have two ponds about a mile from me. One has largemouth in it and they average 2-2.5 lbs. but I have pulled a 5 pounder out of it last year. There is also a hidden pond acreoss the road that has easily 5 lb. smalls in it. This pond is so small, I can cast almost across it. The problem is that it's tough to get through the weeds to it and also, if you catch one or two, you are done because the others get spooked. I can't wait to take my scoot fishin this year. Gotta buy a collapsible rod to fit under the seat. Nice boat...wife would kill me.
