My son has a 50cc Yamaha Zuma, and he found himself away from home with a dead battery. I have been told: NOT to jump a scooter from a car for fear of frying the scooter's electrical system; it is OK if the car isn't running (which makes no sense to me); and that it is OK whether the car is running or not. What is the opinion on this forum? The scooter doesn't have a kick start, and if it isn't OK to use a car, what is one supposed to do in his situation?
I have been wondering about getting one of those cigarette lighter "jumpers", putting alligator clips on the scooter end, and having him carry it with him. That would certainly limit the current going to the scooter.
Thanks for your advice and opinions!
