I've seen bikes that get shipped to the mainland. I was doing you a favor. LOL It went pretty quick.
I'm loving the V Star. It's a solid bike at a great price. Bluebook puts it around 3300, I took it for half that. Ordered new progressive shocks for it today and my wrench gave me a new lid to go with it. This one has a face on it. And built-in shades. AFX FX-50. Nice helmet. Reminds me of my other 3/4 before it rolled off the roof of the car at 40....

I do an electronic transfer from my bank account. But I'm not linking the accounts. I tell my bank to transfer $XX to my PP account. PP never sees my bank account. They don't care where your money comes from as long as you maintain a balance with them. And my PP is a business account also. So I also use it for incoming money from the net.

I always use PayPal and I don't have it linked to an account. I just make sure I have the amount I need in the payPal account. That's it. I refuse to link it to my bank. When I know I'm going to buy something, I transfer the amount I need to the PP account and then make the purchase.

Yep. I hear you. Got an offer on the Nighthawk today. He's paying what I'm asking. The deal hasn't gone thru just yet. I'm going to meet him on Thursday and as long as he's happy, I'll be walking to the bus stop and headed to pick up the V Star.

Horace, Some here know the history of this bike. It was offered to me for next to nothing. When I went to check it out, it did not run until I played with it for about 30 mins. Once I got it running, it sounded good, so I bought it. The sign forgot to say 'assembly required.' I put it all back together and discovered some issues. So I had a good friend of mine do a top end rebuild for me. changed plugs, wires, rear sprocket, throttle cables, air filter, head cover gasket and compression bolts. Then I got it home and did an engine flush with a couple of quick oil changes. Since then, I've put over 10k miles on it. I added the fairing and backrest and the difference they make is incredible. I haven't eaten a rock or bug since. This bike runs like a raped ape. Smooth, fast and reliable. I REALLY hate to let it go, but, at my age, I need the far greater comfort of the V Star. I'm adding a bit of salt to this post just for Cyborg, since he 's still mad at me for stealing this bike.

In my world, you have to survive a bullet wound to run for office, and it has to be IN COMBAT. The lilly livered cowards that run the country now... Don't get me started...

We get them here for a couple of months every year. They come right up and bump your boat. I don't mind, but it's the killer whales we get that make me nervous. Those buggahs are FAST!

Yeah, I'd grab that one too. Either that or get a high torque hobby motor and make your own. Or even mod it with a cable. Sort of like a lawnmower throttle with the slide. Then you could stop it at any angle. LOL

Go down to your local WalMart and get a cheap meter, And a battery charger/tender, AND a new battery. The battery charger should come with a wire set you attach to the battery and leave it there so you can just plug in when you get home.
Also, check and make sure the carb didn't juggle loose from the intake. I know you said it fired right up on the jumpers but still...

I have to let the Nighthawk go. If I had a place to keep it, I wouldn't let it go, but I have very limited room and even more limited parking, so it has to go. It's spot will be taken by a '09 V Star 1100 Custom that I'm getting for under 2k. I know how much Pete is jealous so I thought I'd offer it here first. 3k takes it. If you're mainland, you pay shipping and I'll take half the shipping cost off. Shipping is around $600. If you make me a good offer, I'll go under 3k. If you want pix, check my fb. On second thought, I'd better add some here..... Comes with the fairing and passenger backrest. AND THIS IS WHAT'S REPLACING IT:

The buffeting around your head is caused by air flowing up and around your body from below. By spreading your knees, you change the airflow patterns and ease the buffeting. Cycle Air Dynamics 101.
The gel pad is great for monkey butt. That combined with the sheepskin is awesome. I don't like the air hawk because once air is compressed it gets hard. That pad is not as comfy as you would think. Gave mine away for free.
