Wasp nest... Reminds me of my brother. I can't help but laugh everytime I think of it... He had a big wasp nest in the tree outside the house. So he calls me up to come help with some stuff. When I get there he says to me, "Lets get this nest down". I'm like, "How?" So he starts telling me how he's got it all planned. He's going to climb up on a ladder with hedge cutters and he wants me to stand under it with a trash can and lid and when he cuts it, I'm supposed to catch it in the can and slam the lid down. I told him there not enough drugs or booze to get me stupid enough to try that. A few days later, I call him up to find out he's in the hospital. EMS had to come get him. He got on the roof with the clippers and figured that when the nest fell, the wasps would stay low to the ground with it. The wasps had other ideas. They chased him backwards off the roof and he landed on the ground on his back. He had about 50 stings. I laughed for a week straight. Then years later, I saw almost the same thing on Duck Dynasty. I was laughing again.

How difficult is it to convert from a carb to FI? How much is a FI unit? How difficult are they to fix?

From these pix, I'd say if you have the time, then just pull it all apart and redo it from the ground up. That way, you know what everything is and where it goes. And you'll get a great education in the process.

That was my schedule as a kid. Nowadayz if I walk across the livingroom to the kitchen to fetch my own cold drink I count it as a weeks worth of exercise.
I was raised on a cattle ranch in Texas. Spring calving was a real hoot and fall halter breaking was more fun than most places allow legally. I actually miss it sometimes, but now I'm an ex computer networking Guru who gets paid to play guitar. I don't have much back breaking work anymore, instead, I have to deal with parents. Yuck! I'd rather halter break calves. Hmmm.... ... halter train the parents... ... Nah... it's probably against the law... LOL
You have it good Jack, and I think you know it. You are a blessed man.

Just watched a video that showed some float and needle issues and how to correct them. I should also get some metal cleaner and chuck a Q-tip into my drill and polish the holes the jets mount in.

It's an aggravating piece of (*%!^&*@*(^*!! is what it is. Figured out the fuel leak. Broken fuel line that only leaks under pressure.
Now... The coil tested out of spec so I wonder if I should replace it. But first... Where does the vacuum come from that drives the main needle on the carb? We had it cranking and gas was getting to the carb, but none was getting to the engine. Cleaned every flippin orifice on the carb, every tunnel or anything. Removed all the jets and everything and blasted every little bit of it with carb cleaner. No blockages.
Got it cranking and it's creating suction at the air intake, but nothing comes out to the engine. So what's up? What am I missing?

The video sounds like it might need oil.

Take the screw out and cut a slot in it where the red line is.
