ok success.... she runs. I emptied all the oil out the starter and cleaned the brushes and the copper things that are there and put it back on. 2 cranks and she fired right up. and runs smooth.

the first thing I did was try to start it. yep just a click when I try to push the start button. so I took all the plastics off the back and sides of the scooter and went to check it out. I got me a big screw driver and crossed the 2 terminals on the solonoid. It tried to start but made a growl sound from the starter first. I stopped right away because I new the solonoid is out. I then took the starter off to test if it was bad also. off the scooter it did the same thing but moves very slowly. so I took it apart. ( im the kind of guy I have to see how stuff works. thats when I found the problem...... oil filled the starter. which brings me to my first question. is oil suppose to be in the starter? ive worked on cars before and there was not any oil in any of them. Im going to clean it up and put it back together to see if it will work tonite. please let me know if you have any info of this problem. thanks and sorry about the long babbling.

I have been driving the tar out of my vog 260 that I bought a little while back. It runs awsome, and i can drive in the winter with my new givi windshield i got for it. which means i got the fever....
I then came accros an opertunity to buy another scooter. Its a 150cc touring scooter. it says saturn on the side. the guy didnt know what was wrong other than he rode it to the store one day and and when to start it back to leave and the starter just clicked. so he needed money and was selling it. I didnt care what was wrong when he told me how much he wanted for it I just said ill take it. He said he wanted to get $75 but would let me have it for $30. Clear title and everything. I couldnt resist even if the motor was blown. So I took it home and began to check it out.... here is a pic of the scooter. the windshield is off in this pic.

dugglebogey.... these bike speedos are easy to calibrate. you just have to find out how many mm your tire is. what I did was mark a line on the tire and on the floor. then roll the scoot until the line is strait on the bottom closest to the floor again. then mark the floor again there. then I move the scoot and measured between the 2 marks. I got 59 inches. and there are 25.4mm in 1 inch so i multiplied the 59x25.4=1498.8. so I just set the calibrate setting to 1499. piece of cake.

you know I live only 2 minutes from the water and yet I have never been fishing on grand lake. Ive been out on a boat and jetskis a few times over the past 7 years but thats it. It seems I never have time. oh yeah i did take my little girl swimming last year.

I didnt take any pics while installing it. here are a couple after i was done. I removed the panel under the steering to run the wire down. it had 2 screws on top and 1 on bottom. then it pulled right out. I unscrewed the handlebar mount off the back of the bicycle speedo so it would have a flatt back. when you take the mount off it leaves a big hole in the middle so i took a small piece of plastic and screwed it on the back using the screws and holes already there. then I put velcro on there and the scooter to mount it right in the middle of the panel. It is the perfect spot to see. I then ran the sensor down and zip tied the wire so it would not get caught on anything. I had to splice a wire into the existing wire because it was not long enough to reach the bottom front wheel. I used the magnet that I already had by drilling a hole in the front rotor. The magnet has a screw and nut that you can mount it. so I put it through the small hole I drilled and put the nut to hold it tight. I then used the 2 rubber bands that came with the new sensor to hold the sensor on the inside of the fork. I had to use both because the fork is so big around. it hold pretty whell but I took some puddy like jbweld and put it on both sides of the sensor and holding the fork so if the bands break or slip the sensor is still held in place. On my scoot the front cover is over the forks so it covers all this up and is never seen. here is a couple pics. if I get time tomorrow I will take the cover off so you can see how I mounted the sensor on the fork. I hope this was helpful. I know i kind of rambled on.

Well I got my new sigma bc 506 bike speedo today. I got it all hooked up and it works great. I did have to lengthen the wires out a bit because they were too short. I can now go faster than 50mph. my wind shield is expected here friday.
