Gah! Seeing your posts just reminds me of the crap I'm going to have to deal with when I finally go get my Matrix out of storage. It was in questionable running shape when it got parked... 2 years ago. Good luck. Its sounds like you're close.

Nice exhaust. Did you give that thing a full PDI? An actual complete PDI. Click HereRich, Do we have an official Scooter Doc PDI written up anywhere? If not then lets grab a copy of this one for now. That was written by "Big Guy".... one of our own.

I've only ever been in the dream stage, but I do have some ideas that don't involve the hub motors.
It'll probably never materialize, but I can still dream.

I had somewhere around 12,000 miles on my Matrix. It would have had more, but... well, it still has a chance for more.

I'm going to be heading north to the UP next summer. My brother is getting married up near Ontonagon.
Texas. No state income tax.

Richard, I grew up across Lake Michigan from you near Ludington, MI. Most of my immediate family is still around that area.

I've gotta say I prefer the weather here in Dallas. I'll take a dry 105 over the hot and humid swamp I used to live in any day. I also didn't mind the bit of snow and ice when we first moved. It'll be nice to have seasons again. The Four Seasons of Florida: Hot, Hotter, Hotter than Hell, Christmas.

Texas has treated us pretty well so far. My wife has extended family all over the state, so it brought us a little closer to family, but definitely miss the community we left behind, too. We had lived in central Florida for the better part of 10 years, so we had built quite a support circle. We'll be back to visit, afterall I have daughter... and she'll be begging to go see the Mouse in no time. When the time comes, I will definitely document the work I do to the Matrix, either in a new thread or continue the 20 page epic... time will tell. It'll be several months before I have to think about it. Its definitely going to need some TLC once I pull it from storage. Its only been in storage since February, but it has sat for pretty much two years. I really have no idea what condition the engine is in. It might need a new head and I probably need to source a new exhaust. For the finishing touches, it'll need some body work and a new paint job. Maybe in the end, I'll just make it look pretty and let someone else deal with the running issues. I'm not really sure, yet. Glad to hear that most of the same crew is still here. Wouldn't be the same ScooterDoc otherwise.

Hi all! It's been awhile... a mere two years. A few things have changed in my life since the last time I posted, so where to start? Well, first of all... this happened: Lil' Miss Runningslow here is probably the number one reason I have been absent these past few years. Definitely daddy's girl. I was wrapped around her little finger before she was even born. She's been taking up a good portion of my time and most of my money, so riding just took a back(pillion) seat. The second major life event is that my little family moved from Florida to Texas this past February. I had an opportunity to transfer within my company from our Orlando office to Dallas. The move meant a better position for me and a nice bump in salary. It seemed like a no-brainer at the time. The move wasn't as good for my wife. She works in education as a School Psychologist. There was a bit of red tape she had to cut through to be able to work professionally in Texas, because they like to do things differently here. It took her a few months to land a job, then she had to wait for the beginning of the school year. She finally started working again in August, but at least she was home with the Lil' Miss so we weren't paying for childcare. The scooter. It's currently in storage... back in Florida.... we didn't think that one out too well, did we? Sometime in the next few months, I'm planning a trip back to retrieve our items that we left behind in storage, but I still need to work out those logistics... The final fate of my poor Matrix is still in debate, but one thing is certain: I'm going to get it running... or die trying. Obviously, I'll need to get it back in my possession before I start troubleshooting. When that time comes, I'll almost certainly be here on the forum getting help. At some point down the road I will finally buy myself a Versys. I've been talking about that even before I disappeared from the forum. As matter of fact, the wife and I were having a conversation about this other night and I even have her blessing. Its very low on the list of priorities, but its there. I've been off of two wheels for far too long. I need to feel the wind in my face again.

Haha. So, why haven't I been getting notifications when people posted in my thread??
For those who were interested. The Matrix is currently in storage with little-to-no progress made since that last post.
I know haven't been around much lately (ok fine.. two years, aside from the odd lurking here and there), but I'll give you all an update on my life. I'll put a new thread up in the general forum later when I get an opportunity.
And... Rich, I was planning on a Versys, but that never happened.

Silver Lake... I love that part of Michigan. I live in Florida now, but I grew up and still have family in the Ludington area.

Well I care, it's been an epic journey. In regards to your oil flow you may want to read this thread although it's apples and oranges. I think that's a great idea bypassing the cooler to see what it does. If that doesn't get it you can always hook it back up. Rich Thanks, Rich. It was honestly a great feeling getting back in the saddle... its been about 9 months if I'm not mistaken. I was able to make a few loops around my neighborhood, even went down the street to put some fresh gas in the tank. All the while, bogging down and not getting over 35. Either a fuel or spark issue, I'm sure. The carb cleaning was unhelpful. I also seemed to be having an issue with the throttle cable sticking. After riding it around for a few minutes, the throttle would not go below 4,000 rpm. The plugging and bypassing was simply because I couldn't get replacement fittings, inexpensively. What I did to bypass it was take the two good banjo fittings I had (of the 4 total), which still had a good length of hose attached, then just spliced them together to make a loop. I figure it adds a small amount to the oil capacity, ensures the oil flows properly and will perhaps even add a little bit of cooling until such a time comes that I can replace all the banjo fittings.

Well, for anyone who still cares... guess what I did tonight?
My scooter actually left my garage under its own power for the first time in a very long time. Ran like snit... bogging, idling high and wouldn't get over 35mph.... but we're making progress.
I do believe that tomorrow will include a carb cleaning and adjustment.

Does anyone have any thoughts on my previous post?
I think I'm going to splice together a short hose to connect the two oil cooler ports so that I can get some oil flowing through it to rule out anything related to that.
