I, for one, am interested in the answer to this. It would be handy in other instances also. I know you guys know the answer. Could someone pplease answer this? Or maybe a trip up to the Iron Pony would get the answer. They have every imaginable accessory to bikes. I might take a ride up there today.

mthomas, you will have to explain that to me. Drive it like you rented it? you mean extra carefully because a rented vehicle is not yours? I don't get it.
I drive mine carefully out of the fear of what a stupid mistake can do-death to rider.

The CFMoto Honda clone is 244cc and the Linhai Yamaha is 257cc. That may be some of the justification for the higher price. And maybe just the difference in manufacturers. Both of those joint efforts are contracted deals. But where I live the Yamaha or Honda dealers won't acknowledge the agreements and tell me they won't service the machines. Seems strange to me. Income should be considered income if I was in business. . I agree, There is an Ask dealership here in my town that sells yahamas. But they will not service my 54B. They actually told me they are not allowed to because it is against company policy to service "clones". However, they would accept a clone as a trade in. So I asked if the would resell the trade-in and they said yes. I asked if they would service the bike after they sold it and they said yes I don't think there is any reason other than dealers want to discourage the sale of cheap scooters and encourage the sale of their more expensive scooters. They're attitude and thought is: If we make it hard for them to get service, they'll think twice, and buy a bike from us next time. What they don't think about is that the cheap bikes have a clientelle that buy them for a reason, that the cheap bikes are growing in popularity, and that there are more and more independent little guys that are taking advantage of this market and opening small businesses to service these cheap bikes. OK so ASK won't service my bike. But I have found 2 small business scooter people who will. (I just hope they can stay in business, they sell bikes also and with the price of gas going up, I hope their sales will go up too.

The wind in your hair and the bugs in your teeth. ;D Oh what a feeling. Roy There we go. I love it. I knew we had creative people out there! Yep, that sums it up nicely also. How about another contest!! Drum roll......... Wait for it............ Lets see who can come up with the best phrase to sum up scooting. so far we have 1. Scooting is like a magic carpet ride. 2. The wind in your hair and the bugs in your teeth, Oh what a feeling 3.You're right, aint it great ( I shouldn't count that one but I am hard up) OK i need at least 2 more phrases that describe scooting before I make another needless, useless poll.

come on, people. I know some of you are better at expressing yourselves than I am. So far, I like the magic carpet best, but I bet someone can come up with something else (If not, thats ok to. we can just let this thread die.

that is so true. The scenery comes alive for me. The smells, the sounds, and God's beautiful earth. The whole scooting experience for me is more than I ever expected it to be. I got my scooter on my 61st birthday. Didn't know anyone who had one, had never ridden one. Just got it on a whim because i was getting old and wanted to feel young again. Boy did I get a surprise!. I f I had known the feeling of freeness, flying, and being close to nature that it brought to me, I would have been scootin' long before this.

mcalli, Panhandle of Oklahoma. My wife and I rode a 750 Honda custom to Paulding Oh, back in 84 to visit my bro and sis in law. Pretty country up there. The winters here are some what mild, but there are a few years that get ugly. This past winter we had alot of up and down temps at times unusually warm 70s and then near 0 highs for a few days. A really strange winter. I think the last measurable moister we had was back in Nov. It's getting ugly here to say the least. Wow, sounds like your area is turning into a dust bowl. You're right, Hot and dry- very ugly. Flboyjohn, I don't want to here it. Are you on the coast of florida and which side? At least we don't have hurricanes here. Of course we do have tornado's and I wouldn't want to try to out run one on my scoot!

feels like i am gliding,,especially when i ride on slopes...imagine yourself sitting on a couch, it's an undescribable feeling, soaring, tumbling ,freewheeling through an endless diamond skies....that's what i feel everytime i ride my morph, feels like a magic carpet ride...really! Love it. It feels like a magic carpet ride. (I know there was a song in the sixties titled "Magic carpet ride". I just can't think of it right now. It will come to me later.) Wonderful wording Luke.

okiescoot, where do you live, Southern California, the desert in arizona? Seems to me like you are describing summer, not spring. While we in the colder areas are awaiting and looking forward to mild temperatures which are perfect for scooting, I can honestly say I am not ready for 96 degree weather yet. As much as I hate winter, I love living in an area that experiences mild springs and falls. Enjoy all that heat. We will get it here soon enough.

I can't describe the feeling I get on a scooter. "man and machine at one" just doesn't quite get there. There is a feeling of freedom, adventure, and I don't know what else. I have never been able to put it into words. I know if everyone had a chance to experience it, there would be more on the roads. What is it about scooting? besides feeling free, etc, is it the element of danger? I don't think it is because there is nothing else I like to do that is dangerous. Heck, I hate to fly. I do it but I hate it. So lets see if we can figure out how to put it into words. What is it about scooting that is so addicting? Lets hear your thoughts.
