right you are, wolfhound. I found the same things odd about that film. I believe it is some fancy photoediting. As far as the end of the world goes, I remember new years eve of the year 2000. Everything was going to go wrong with computers, weather, etc. We were supposed to be doomed. I took the new year in calmly, knowing that it too would pass like all the rest. Only God knows when. Until then, I am planning on enjoying life. I am not afraid of the end of the world. I am only a little afraid of death in the extent that I do not know what it will be like after death. I do know that after death I will be taken care of by my God and I know by faith that it will be better than it is now. So, I also plan to be riding in 2013 and 2014 if it is God's will. If it is not, well, I accept His will gratefully.

I rode my 150 cc scoot all last summer, and fall for 20 miles one way and 20 miles back to work. I mostly traveled at speed of 40 to 55 mph (not WOT) the whole way, and never had any problems. my little 150 does 70 mph (according to the speedometer) at WOT, on level ground. I know because, on a empty, straightaway country road, I tried it out briefly. I was surprised that it went that fast. Only tried this once and only briefly to see what kind of speed I could get.

tell me about it. I put 2 and a half gallons in my new bike and the gauge only reads 1/8th of a tank. (hopefully, this will be fixed this week)

me too. I bought both of my scoots for cash. I like knowing that I own it outright. no lender, no interest. It really is surprising how quickly you can sock it away if you really want something. Open a bank account(or savings) account that you will expressly use to save for your scoot. Every payday, pay yourself first (before you pay any bills) right into your bike account. Somehow, there is always enough money to pay the bills. Doing it this way, you have to cut down on your frivolous spending. You'll spend less for junk you usually blow your money on because you won't have the cash to pay for it. Just don't touch the bike account for any reason. Any extra cash you get during the year (income tax, bonus at work, etc) put in the account. You would be surprised how quickly it will amass.

I swear, as time goes on, dogs have become more people like and more intelligent. This was cute. Now, puddlejumper, show me a dog carpooling the kiddies, in the family station wagon and you will truly have me convinced (convinced of what? who knows?

Wolfhound, yep. you assume correctly. My father, aunt, grandfather all were deaf. I started losing my hearing at about 30. Used a special stethoscope (my own digital) at work. It had adjustable sound and every doctor in the hospital used to come into CCU and ask if they could borrow my stethoscope for a minute. It was terrific for hearing all lung and heart tones. Any way, by the time I got to 50, I didn't feel comfortable in nursing because my hearing had deteriorated so much so I retired. I still have my license but don't really want to go back. Almost 30 years of practicing was enough. Anyway, at 62, I have to be watching your lips (even with my hearing aids in) to tell what you are saying. My phone has special equipement on it that really magnifies sound so I am still ok with the phone as long as people speak clearly and slowly. Eventually, I am going to need TTD but not until I absolutely have to.

I agree. My scoot (the new one that doesn't work), comes with a radio and mp3. I will not use it while I am riding, ever. The only thing that will be going into my ears is the gps unit into my bluetooth helmet. I am already almost deaf in both ears, and to cut down on the little I can hear by blasting music into my ears seems stupid, if not lethal while on a bike.

I was going to sell my little 150 or give it to my daughter. Now, I will do neither. I think it is almost a necessity, with a chinese bike, to have a back up.

Don't forget about the radiation that is leaking into the ocean. This will also contaminate the fish which would make eating fish very unhealthy. Also, fish would die and fish that were born from radio active fish could be deformed or sterile which would result in a fish shortage for years to come. I don't think all the ramifactions of this disaster have truly been realized by me or anyother people. There is stuff that we haven't even thought about yet.
Of course, if our government acts as it usually does, they will say that there is no problem with the reactors in California being on a fault line and they will make up some stupid excuse that they think the american public will fall for. THen in the future, CA will have "the big one" and the nuclear reactors will spew radiation like there is no tomorrow (which, come to think of it, there won't be for many). Then we will all sit and say why?as we slowly die of cancer. Why did the governement not close down these reactors? And once again the government will come up with some cornball excuse that the american people will have to swallow. Makes me mad because it will happen, and it could have been prevented.
And why will the gov. not do anything about it now? Because the utility lobbyists don't want them to and the lobbyists are the ones who really control congress. not the people of the US. And the lobbyists don't want the reactors shut down. Why? you may ask. Because of GREED AND THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR!!!!
I am beginning to understand tribulation as written in the Bible. Man will destroy the earth with his greed!
I'm very sorry for the ranting and raving, this is not usually how I am. But this whole thing makes me very angry.

As most of you have probably read, 2 more after quakes, each 6.something hit Tokeo Tueday night (their time). About one hour ago reactor number 2 in tokeo started burning. They (The experts)are now predicting that this radiation will hit world food supplies according to internet news.
this event is going to have a world wide impact. Lets hope that the United Nations or some other world organization could pass some type of legislation that a nuke power reactor could not be built within so many miles of a fault line.
Scary thought- we have plants like this in california. If this happens here the radiation would affect our whole country. I think our congress should legislate that all nuclear reactors with in a certain number of miles of a fault line, should be closed down and arrangements for the safe disposal of all nuclear waste at these facilities should be done pronto.
Some may call it extreme, but I call it common sense prevention

I read these messages about the 54B and I really do feel like crying. I don't think my new bike will ever start.I don't know how to do all this stuff. none of it. The bike is brand new, the gas gauge doesn't work. The engine tries to turn over but won't. I think I got a lemon and I don't have any way to fix it. I am royally screwed. What a waste of money. Yes, I am depressed. Anger will be coming shortly. If I can't get it started soon, an attorney will be my next step.
