I will look into the protocol for adjusting the valves. Going to order that gasket and hose/adjust the valves then see ya moto bravo lol. I'm going to be starting another job soon (local) and if I can't depend on the thing it's gotta go unfortunately.

rks, I did do some of the fuel and vac lines, basically anything that looked bad got replaced. Yours looks pretty much identical in the motor department, is your fuel filter hidden under the frame in the pic?

Guys yes it's a fuel pump and it's mounted in the factory spot as far as I know. I just replaced the pos got raped for 30 bucks plus tax at the local scoot joint jeez could of got a whole carb for less online! We thought the same thing because the fuel filter wouldn't fill all the way up however that experiment failed and it's still acting up. Then my father in law adjusted the float which he was certain would fix the problem but nope. I also did have that lower line on carb pinched off before and it acted up then too. What's left a new carb? Do I just put in gy6 to get parts on Amazon anyone know? I'm gonna just get a new carb and if that don't work this little bastard is out the door lol! Oh and before I forget no I have not adjusted the valves and that cover you take off to adjust the valves has a messed up gasket could that cause problems?
Oh and the previous owner was a girl who didn't know anything about working on scooters so yes she sold it because it had problems however I fixed the fuel leak and it was running great UNTIL I took it for a full throttle spin a few miles. It has gotten worse since I bought it too which is kinda odd..I don't know how but it says i have put on almost 500 miles however now it leaves me stranded every time so it's not getting ridden until I know it's fixed. Then I may dump it and just buy a new one eventually..

Ok put all back together took a spin and thing was running great and was also accelerating much quicker. Went a mile or 2 not full throttle the entire time then got into the neighborhood and it crapped out again. Did these things before it went back together. Adjusted the air screw and idle and cut the hose for the fuel tank vent to about 6" didn't have a way to get a little breather at the time or a new spark plug. So basically I am back to square 1. The only thing left now that I have not tried is getting that metal piece with the screw in it from the bottom hose of carb put back on however the screw for it is missing. Officially becoming more problems than it's worth hey go figure!

alleyoop, my carb does NOT have that screw on the bottom. Bashan so I should put one of those little breather filters on the fuel vent? It had no hose on it when I got it and it almost seems like it started acting up since I put that one on however did not take a longer run with it when I first got it so can't confirm that. I have also been overfilling it everytime. Thanks for the info guys I am putting it back together today, will need to order that one hose and noticed the gasket on the front of the engine where you would take off the cover to adjust the valves is damaged as well. Good thing I have some spare time at the moment or I see why these things would just sit around when problems arise!

Took the carb to my Father in laws and the float needed and adjustment according to him. He works on his own motorcycles and carbs quite often so will put her back together and see what happens. If it doesn't work may just "upgrade" to one of those china ruckuses lol but for what it's worth I have already put over 400 miles on this beast ha what more can I expect!

Here are the two lines I zip tied, one is from the fuel tank vent or overflow and the other is from the bottom of the carb where that metal thing and spring like piece should be installed. Hopefully this makes things a little clearer..She's not going back together until I figure this out (I hope)

Ok how do I post pics, sorry long hot day so too lazy to use the search function. Tore this thing down, the exhaust leak was that rubber hose thing had gotten brittle and broke. I was able to reattach it but it wouldn't slip on very far due to the thing being old and crusty now. Can I use some regular heater hose type line or do I need to order it, it's a pretty good bend so would kink I assume. Took the carb off pulled the bowl, it's really clean however there was no fuel in the bowl when I took it off, normal? Air filter wasn't bad gave it a quick rinse like it said on the cover so letting it dry. I live at about 4500 elevation so not sure if this would be a factor. I also still need to figure out the metal thing that is missing the screw, can I put any screw that will fit or is that some special screw? Lots of missing bolts when taking apart go figure, these things can really get time consuming when they act up!

I will take some pics today when I tear it down a bit, it still has the cheap red spark plus as well so will get an NGK in there.

I'm baaaack! Ok I thought I had a fuel pump problem because the fuel filter would not fill up with much gas. Installed new one and still hesitates and will bog out and die after prolonged full throttle about of 2-3 miles. It's pretty warm here 95+ but I still have not figured out where that metal piece off the bottom hose of the carb goes and it's missing the screw. I just have the hose off the bottom of carb and hose from overflow of gas tank zip tied up to the frame right under the seat. I'm not riding it until I resolve this issue stall along the road sucks lol!And my exhaust just got loud out of the blue as well yeeha!

Good news, the carb was loose and sucking air on the inlet side. Battery all charged up and the thing fires right up. Now the real test how long can it remain problem free! for the input guys, I will post pics next time something arises.

Ok now the pos won't start! I knew this thing would be frustrating lol! Kick stand up, have the panels off, love these great stripping screws of butter! Here is another strange thing when we bought it and started it electric it would not start until you basically stood up and slammed down on the seat could that be? Wife all excited me not so much!

Thanks Alleyoop that's exactly what I needed to know! It had no screw in it so was just pouring right through it.
